Anyone Getting Banded In July?

My tentative surgery date is July 23rd because of my work schedule. It may change by a week but it looks like I'm gonna be a July baby. Anyone else out there that will be banded in July?

Me too! my post op visit was yesterday, Surgeon said the incisions healed nicely. She wants me on mushys now (for the next 2 weeks) because I can not get the protein drinks down because of acid reflux. Got the ok to go swimming! My 3 mushy meals are planned out for the day, so excited about eatting and getting some nutrients in.

Glad you are doing well!!!

I bet you never thought a meal that looks like an infant's plate would excite you so much(smile..LOL) Glad to hear you are doing well

I had my 2 week post op Wednesday. My Dr. said I could go to regular food. Interesting how they all differ a bit on that issue.

I did get 2 CC's added and was happy about that, but don't really feel much difference. I have been pretty hungry and can eat about 1 cup or a bit more. I have been trying to stay under that, but I get hungry after a couple hours.

How are you all doing with that part? I lost 20 lbs. in the first month and don't want to gain any of that back.

Hvae not had my frist fill yet...though, in my first month I have lost 51 lbs! Still a bunch more to go!

My God! 51 lbs in one month. That is incredible.

I don't think us gals can loose that fast. Men seen to have the upper hand when it comes to weight loss. You must have been working out a lot.

I hope it keeps going so well.

I am 3 weeks post op and as of this morning I am down 20lbs! I really don't have an appetite and I have nothing in my band. My 2nd follow up appt is 8-22-12 I don't know if the doctor will give me a fill or not, it's too early to tell. How's everyone doing so far?

I had my surgery July 20, two weeks ago today. I am feeling fine and incisions are almost fully healed. I have4 of them, but I read post about people pushing and feeling their port. I could not tell you where mine is...bc I am too scared to push and find it. Is that normal or am I just being a chicken?? I go next week for my first post op and fill. Any advice on what happens or how it will fill??

Hi! I'm about 5 weeks out and little by little have been getting very hungry. Sometimes drinking makes it go away, but I've been struggling trying to stay under 1/2 cup of food at a time. First fill will be in two weeks..hope it helps! Good luck to you, too!

OMG! I thought I was the only one who still has to unbutton my pants while sitting! lol This phase, too, will pass!

Had my post-op appointment today. Lost 13 pounds since surgery - YAY! Incisions healed well doctor said. On to the mushy/baby food consistency phase. I found out I have the Realize Band which my doctor said it is like the Adjustable Lapband - "It's like Coke and Pepsi, just different brands." However, the Realize band, even without fills, it gives some degree of restriction and it sits better on the stomach he said. It can hold up to 11cc. My 1st fill of about 3cc will be Sept 17th my doctor said. I'm trying my best to stick with the eating phases as I want to be successful with it. I'm on my way :-) All the best to everyone!

Feel better, and take it easy..... Hope you get a good night sleep

Thanks Patty. How are you doing? I'm doing really well. Went back to work the following Monday. Everyone was so surprised to see me so soon. Didn't have much pain or gas at all. Started mushie stage yesterday. See the doc again tomorrow for check-up. So far lost 14 pounds. Yeah!! Talk soon Christine
