Itching At Port Site?

Was banded on May 10th and all my incisions ae pretty much healed except, that I keep having some redness and itching at my port site. No drainage or oozing, doesn't appear to be infected. But driving me crazy! Anyone else have this problem ever?

I was banded on the 11th and I have some itching at the port but no redness that looks the same to me.

I was banded about a month ago and I had horrible itching. I finally had to take children's benadryl to ease itch. I was never so happy than when that itching finally went away!!!!

yep.. it will get better. im two months out and still get some itching sometimes. rub some anti itch cream on it, it may help. is your port under your waist band?

I'm also 2 months out, and the itching does get better. My doctor says it's your tissue getting accustomed to having a foreign object in it. just try not to scratch! hard right?! Rub if you have too, my daughter saw me absently scratching and smacked my hand! Hilarious! Just be mindful of the scratching and you'll be fine.

The port is above my navel and I have been using cortisone cream on it but it only helps for a little while. Glad to hear it will resolve. It's mostly aggravating. Not scratching though just rubbing.
