Revision Sugery?

How long did you stay in the hospital after your revision? For my first one I stayed over night, but I was the last one operated on and I had been sick...they said this time I could leave in just a few hours.

Yes my band slipped. I am hoping this new & improved band works out for me. I don't want to ever go through this again. So this is your 3rd surgery for lap band? What problems have you had?

Had my revision yesterday...all he had to do was fix the tubbing the band was fine. As far as other problems....when my band slipped it was due to bad food choices, getting stuck and throwing up.....If I ever get acid reflux again I will be at my dr. Office in a heat beat....

What did they have to do for your revision?

Well after speaking to my surgeon I found out that my band was not replaced he just "fixed" the slip by repositioning the band in the right place. He said my band was fine. He also repaired a hiatal hernia which was likely the cause of the acid reflux, heartburn, and possibly the slip.

I am having surgery on May 30th to fix a hiatial hernia and have my band repositioned... just curious how you are doing? What kind of post-op diet did your surgeon require? I know it is early... but was your reflux "cured" or has it gotten betteR?

Had lap band repair surgery last Monday. Recovery and post op stuff same as the first time. Also hope that this never happens again. Doctor said that my band actually slipped upward which is more uncommon. Felt like I was choking almost after every meal but with no food restriction. Very uncomfortable. Hope to be back on track with weight loss very soon. Good luck to everyone on your journey.

I am doing really good. I am convinced that the hernia was the culprit of all my problems. The acid reflux was cured awhile back after my first unfill, but I still experienced the heartburn. Since the revision I haven't had any heartburn at all. My post-op diet consisited of clear fluids the 1st cpl of days then Protein shakes, sugar free Jello, popsicles, etc. At my follow-up appt 12 days post-op I was told that I could gradually progress to solids. Today I am eating any and everything so I am looking forward to my first fill on June 7th. I am still under my goal weight but I really want to feel the restiction again because I am eating way too much for my liking. Hopefully my fill in a cpl of weeks will give me good restriction like I had before all the problems started.

Good luck next week. I hope they are able to fix everything for you!
