Insomnia First Night Home?

I had a 10am surgery yesterday and was totally looking forward to sleep but I can't. Anyone else? Usually the pain meds knock me out too.

Sometimes the meds give the opposite effect...congrats on your surgery. I am 6 days post op and every day is a little better.

I was banded on the 14th and I just realized its the medication (hydrocodone) that's giving me insomnia! I mistakenly missed a dose on the night of the 17th and slept like a baby. I didn't think anything of it until my niece fell on my stomach the following day and I was in so much pain so I had to start back on the medication. Needless to say I did not get any sleep!

I thought it was just me.....glad to know I'm not the only one!

I to had my surgery yesterday and I had a hard time sleeping, I slept better in the hospital! I think because I wasn't comfortable. It hepled to put a pillow under my knees to take the pressure off my stomach. God bless u on your journey:-)
