I have a few things I'm looking forward to with the spring/summer approaching.
I'd like to sit in a lawnchair with out my thighs popping out the sides of it.
I'd like to sit in a folding chair with out it sinking into the ground 3 inches.
I'd like to sit in a hammock with out looking like an overstuffed sausage.
I'd also like to run through the sprinkler like a little kid, having a great time, laughing and giggling with out jiggling!

I thought of another one the other day that I'm sure many of you will understand.
I want to be able to step out of the shower, wrap my regular sized towl around me and have it cover up everything, and not have a gap down one side, or have it be a "bath sheet".

Just started using My Fitness Pal to journal and keep track and would love some friends to join with me and we can encourage each other on it. My username is the same as in here. Kymie9899. Just send me a request and we can hold each other accountable.

I started a list last night of things I'm looking forward to once I get my lapband and am on the way to a healthier me. I thought it would be fun if others added what they're excited to do as well!
-Being a healthy weight and hopefully starting a family in the future (we're thinking 3-4 years)
-Not having to shave using the braille system anymore
-Want to be able to do frisky things and not worry about how it looks from his perspective
-Would like to bicycle from this city to the next (15 miles) just to see what I can see
-Nicer selection of clothes (dear fashion designers: big girls do NOT want HUGE flowers or stripes all the time...)
    Anyone else?

Tip #1 stay ahead of the pain set an alarm clock to go off when your next dose is and take the meds even if you feel good for the first 3 days.
#2 buy baby wipes to wash yourself with for those days when showering is to hard
#3 buy large unscented maxi pads to cover your incisions with they are more comfortable then gauze and it provides a cushion between them and your binder.
#4 Allow others to take care of you! Its hard to do but do it your worth it.
#5 drink lots of water, it take fluids in to push fluids out
#6 take lots of photos and measurements before surgery
#7 come to terms that this is a big surgery and it will take time to heal (I'm still working on this)
#8 DO NOT WEIGH YOURSELF FOR 3 WEEKS after the surgery
Hope some of these help :-)

Lol, I feel like I'm being tortured reading some of these posts. I've been banded since Wednesday and I would kill for some "real" food right about now. I'm being good though and sticking to liquids, mostly because I'm scared to death to mess something up or throw up. I went back to work today and I did ok. Pain got a little worse. It almost felt as though my insides were so swollen they were going to burst out of me. I'm hoping tomorrow will be better because I have to grocery shop and throw a wedding shower for 160 people...that will be the real torture. On the bright side I am down 5lbs! Woohoo!!!

Hi there! I just got my band on 03/14/12. I have been having some gas issues as well as incision pain. I haven't looked yet because the nurse said not to remove the bandages for three days. I have been drinking mostly water and a few ounces of protein shake and chicken broth. I have only felt hungry once since the surgery and that was this afternoon. A couple of ounces of chicken broth solved that and then I felt stuffed. I guess I'm still pretty swollen. I'm going to attempt to go back to work tomorrow. I will be checking in to try and keep track of what y'all are going through since you have a few days on me. Congratulations!!

    Good luck to you all.
I am convinced that one's success or failure depends a lot on support.
You need to surround yourself with people who are like minded in your goals, and those who are successful.
Being around negative people can only lead to frustration and slowing down your progress.

Congratulations......just remember it is a journey and things don't happen instantly like we all wish they did.
But you will make significant progress by following your Dr's advice and not get discouraged.
just be warned, as good as this site is for information and support, it s just as bad for negativity and getting
    one frustrated and confused.
You need to learn to know the difference.

I too went to dr Hollis at true results! I love him and his staff is great! I am fortunate enough to have had the surgery covered by my ins fills included. I do wish they would give fills more often instead of having to wait 5 to 6 weeks for availability : / but other than that I really like their facility and staff!
