Newbie, Surgery Scheduled 03/16

Hello all, I am new to the site and was just browsing. Im glad to have a place to come to for support. I have battled obesity for a long time and Im only 22 years old. Im ready for a healthy new lifestyle and hoping for confidence I have pretty much never had. I will have my surgery next week and it really has not hit me that this is real...I have wanted a healthier life for so long. My lap band surgery is being covered by my insurance, which is bcbs of illinois...i had worried about being approved by them because of some post's i read about on this site beforehand. However, I received my approval within 6 days and couldn't be happier that wait was over. I am of course nervous about surgery since i have never been put under before...the only other surgery I had was a c section with my daughter. I welcome any advice from my fellow bandsters as I am sure I will need it. Wish me luck, for I know already that i am blessed! :D

Relax...and follow your doctor's instructions! The doctor's and their highly trained staff are there to answer your questions. No question is too small if you really need an answer.

Good luck with your surgery! :)

I live in Ft. lauderdale, fl.~~ you wlll do great during the surgery. I also was nervous to have surgery and be put out. I made it. I wish you many blessings and good health.

i wish you all the best with ur surgery.. its not as bad as i thought it would have been. ive been telling people.. just talk to your doctor.. being comfortable with him or her is key to you overcoming your fear of going under.. whatever your question is .. ask it.. whatever you think you need clarification on..... speak up... let your doctor know ur scared.. its okay.. hes heard it plenty times before.

ive recently been banded as well.. ive struggled with my wieght all my life.. both my parents and all my grandparents are heavy so i know how you feel. we're almost the same age too..

i look forward to walking this journey with you..
