It's The Little Things.....

I wanted to give other new bandsters a little jolt of encouragement this morning....

I was banded on January 27th,

Last night I took a shower. Our bathroom is connected to our bedroom...so I hopped out of the shower and wrapped the towel around me and went to get my undergarments out of the dresser in my bedroom, where my husband happened to be laying on the bed watching tv.

As I walked in front of the tv, my husband said "Wow..its working" I said "What do you mean"..he said "I know you've lost but usually I can see your whole side when you get out of the shower". I looked at him kinda stunned and ran back into the bathroom to look in the mirror........

'HOLY CRAP!!! MY BATH TOWEL NOW COVERS EVERYTHING!!!!" I cant remember the last time I had the bath towel (not a beach towel) cover my entire body!

I was so excited. I have been seeing the scale move. My pants have been fitting a little looser but this was something that I could see with my own eyes and not have to second guess!!!!

Im so happy! HANG IN THERE ALL YOU NEW BANDSTERS..ITS HAPPENING...ALL THE LITTLE THINGS!!!

So happy to read this. I too was banded the same day you were. I very rarely wear my robe but I put it on the other day, and noticed the same thing as you Littlerlou. I wake up in the morning and the swelling in my stomach area has gone down as well as some inches, I presume. I know I have a ways to go, but so far, the little changes, as you say, add up to bigger ones if we stay on track and do what we're supposed to do. Getting on this site during preop, reading posts from people who were nearing their 6 week PO, I couldn't wait. Well, I'm here now and it'll only get better if I continue to do what I'm doing. I love the feeling and seeing a change in the new me.

Congrats to you! I remember how happy I was too when the smallest towel in the closet that no one would use went all the way around me! Nonscale victories are so nice! Last week I noticed when I was laying in the bathtub I can now feel my back bones when I get out of the tub, no more cushion back there.

AWESOME!! I have noticed the same thing recently and felt the same way. I had a similar experience with my husband when he hugged me he said "Hello skinny!" I laughed. It is amazing what weight does to you and the love ones around you. Congratulations and keep up the good work.

I thought the same thing when I originally quoted your post. Let's keep it going {down.down, down} and share our next few week accomplishments or as they say here, NSV's.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
