Weighing In

Recommended Posts

Ok I had a revelation today as I was answering a post. I never thought that I would ever get to the point I liked weigh ins. As I was answering the post I was telling the person that I couldn't wait to be weighed in again. Then it hit me. Me. Liking weigh ins? What's wrong with this picture? Wow. I really can't find the words to explain this. It feels exciting, new and even like having the monkey off your back. A goal perhaps? It just feels plain WONDERFUL! I don't have almost 140 lbs to lose now it's more like 97! Never thought I would have less than 100 lbs to lose in a long long time. I guess I am just in heaven right now and I want to keep this euphoria going as long as I can! Happy Monday to all!

PS

I tried on everything in my closet and 99.9% of my clothes fit as opposed to less than half!!!! I threw out ALL clothes that were too big...NO LOOKING BACK! Look out world, here I come.....

I hear ya sister! As a rule, I only live by my official weigh ins and don't weigh myself in between. So it's exciting to see what has happened every 6 weeks!

Congratulations! I love cleaning out the closet too! And know that I have some nice clothes to donate to someone.

Congratulations. I too went through my closet and it was wonderful to be able to get rid of so many clothes. Now I look forward to shopping. No more tears for me walking out of a store totally disgusted with myself. I now look forward to trying on clothes. It just might be a new addiction for me. :)

Before the lapband i hadnt weighed myself for over 5 yrs, now everyday i get on the scales and i actually like it :) i use the scales like i used to monitor my sugar when i was diabetic, if i gained a lb i work hard that day to take it off.

All my old clothes are now gone except one size 5XL tee shirt, freeing up your space in your closet is like making space in your mind to accpet the new you

Congrats on your weight loss so far and keep up the good work ...

I so glad for all of you! I also agree how nice to be able to go into a store that is not a "specialty" store for big women! I went from a 3x to an extra large so far. It's fun to go shopping with both my daughters and granddaughter. We can shop at the same store! My 17 yr old just dropped 10 lbs on her own and she's amazed that she lost it without even trying. I told her it's because my husband and I ate eating actual serving sizes that she and her brothers are also more aware of what they eat. This proves even more to me that of course we as parents are and should be examples to our children. It makes my heart good to see all 6 of our kids, married and teens, losing weight along side with my husband and me.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
