I had my surgery May 2011 and I started biotin that month. I have not lost any hair and I take it everyday. My daughter is a beauty operator and she said to keep on taking it. So I would start it. Good Luck!

i had my surgery 7/11/11 my hair started to come out in Oct. I lost almost all of it... I too started taking Biotin in August...so I guess it varies it is finally growing back

Wow, you lost almost all your hair?? I have really long very thick hair, it would be really noticeable if I lost it all!

I started taking the vitamins my doc asked me to take before surgery. he more or less gave me exactly the amounts of each vitamin I should take.

I take a liquid by Nature's Life "Source of Life Gold liquid. it is expensive but, I & my hair are worth it!!!

my doc and his nurse said it is not normal to lose hair with the gastirc band surgery.

take your adult vitamins!

My hair has thined at the bottom. I have always shedding hair. I too take Botine. It is worth it as I am down 96 lbs since Feb9/11.

I have very thick hair and I felt I was losing a lot but I'm sure no one else could tell. My mother say's I don't know where you got all the hair it certainly was'nt from me! Anyway I started to take Biotin 5000 mg (tick tac size) and the hair loss leveled off. I asked my doctors office if the weight loss was causing the loss and the nurse said "not at the speed you're losing". Gee Thanks.
