Do I Need A Lap Band Fill?

I have my first fill appt on Dec 1st but I am not quite sure if I need it. I have been eating smaller portions of food and getting full. I then can go hours without needing to eat again. I dont think about food or crave it during the day. Let me know what your thoughts are! Thank you in advance!

i think you should go as long as you can without a fill. Ask your doctor what he/she thinks but there are many people on this board who have lost a lot weight without a fill. I am not so lucky i have had 4 fills and i think i need one more tweak to get to the green zone Good luck and great job losing 24 pounds smile.png

Thank you! I will ask my doctor what she thinks, but I am kind of thinking that right at this moment I may not need one. However I probably can still eat more than they say I should be able to which is only supposed to be like 3 or 4 ounces of food.

If your hungry every 2 hrs., that's different..

If you don't even think about food, and or are not hungry. Your Dr. probably is not even going to fill you. Because It's not necessary.

So I don't think you need a fill.

I agree with th others. For many the band doesn't restrict the volume of food. It sounds like it is working as planned and you're losing weight...all very good'

I think I can still eat way more than they say I should be able too. However its not nearly as much as I used to be able to eat before. I cant wait to see what my surgen says. Maybe she will give me a small fill
