Scared to start solid foods?

I get to start back on a regular diet tomorrow. I thought I would be really excited and happy but actually im kinda scared. I guess I wonder if I am really ready? I am just afraid that I am gonna rip something or cause damage to my band. I also am afraid of gaining weight back before my first fill on Dec 1st? Did anyone else feel like this? Is this normal or am I strange???

Just start slowly, add a few new things at once, to give yourself more confidence in solid food. I don't remember when your

surgery was, but most programs recommend solid foods at week six. If you're not there yet, take it easy and follow your doctor's advice. It's easy to gain until you get to the right fill,

this is where the most will power has to be applied.

Do not fret about starting solids everything will be fine. I will be honest and admit i did start solids a few days early I was actually suposed to start this coming thursday. Just know most of the time it will seem as though you can still eat just like you use to just try not to over do it.

It's not bad at all. Just measurer your food, and chew to applesauce consistency. Take your time in between each small bite, and learn to put your fork down.

Now that your starting is a good time to practice this

THanks guys! Tomorrow will be week number 4 but the surgen has cleared me for solids. I like the advice of putting the fork down. I have been a fast eater all of my life. always the first one done. I guess im just a little nervous about weight gain. I dont wanna undo what I have worked so hard for. I guess I figure if I had the will power to not eat anything solid for the last 4 weeks, I can do ANYTHING!!! lol I am so glad I found these boards and all of you! What an awesome support system this is!!

Just remember to chew, chew, and chew ! Take your time.

You will do fine... ;)
