First plane ride post-op....

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow I will be taking my first trip via airplane since pre-op. I am actually excited to see what it feels like to sit in a plane seat, in economy, and actually pull that seatbelt strap and not worry if there is another big person sitting next to me  . I used to hate trying to fasten that belt, sitting with my arms crossed the whole trip and not not getting anything to drink because I couldnt get the tray all the way down.

It's the little things I look forward too now. :D

Enjoy it! Speaking from experience, it is wonderful. I lost 140 lbs several years ago on my own, in large part because of airplane seats. One of the most memorable experiences of my life was when I got on a plane for the first time after losing all that weight, and had two "skinny" people sit next to me. When they sat down, the woman said to me, "I'm so glad you're a small person - I hate sitting next to people who don't fit in the seat." I smiled, and laughed my butt off inside. Since then I gained the weight back, which is why I am now here, just banded in September. When I fly now, I always wonder what the people sitting next to me are thinking. I can't wait to not be self conscious anywhere, especially on a plane!

Enjoy that NSV!

You may find you feel a bit tighter during the flight...drink some liquids and sit back and enjoy not snacking!

Travel safe :)

It's fabulous to be able to cross your legs, put your tray table down and still have space in the seat next to you. I also get up to use the bathroom on planes now because I don't worry about having to walk down the aisle semi-sideways to avoid hitting people with my hips!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
