Hello everyone. I am 31 year old, mother of three, who has struggled with my weight since my teenage years. I started my banding process in June 2011. I have recently finished my six month md supervised diet and other insurance neccesary tests and am waiting to hear back from Highmark BCBS about my approval. It has been a little over week, and everyday goes by I get more and more anxious/excited. I hope to have my Realize band procedure done by the end of the year. I have been seeing Hope Bariatrics, Dr. Michael Felix. The office has been wonderful and patient with me thus far!

Completed my 6 months on Thursday, done with the psych consult, the nutritionist, and the gastroscopy...now just waiting on all the paperwork!

Good luck! Friday was my last test and now I am in the waiting process too with BCBS.

I too have Highmark BCBS...I waited 2 1/2 weeks for approval. I am scheduled for banding on 11/18. I called the insurance company once a week to see if it was approved. Guess I couldnt wait for them to call me Good luck

Thanks everyone for your input. I was hoping to get approved in just a couple days, but 2 1/2 weeks still isn't that bad when you think about it!! Good luck to everyone and keep us updated!
