travelling after surgery

i got my band last tuesday 10/25. Im 42 and doing pretty well. Pain is minimal. My first doc appt is this wednesday. my parents live in NC and im in Pittsburgh, my dad came up to see me and now wants me to ride back with him, 11 hour drive, and visit my mother, who didnt want to come up here. Then i would fly home sunday. Anyone else travel this much within the first couple weeks of surgery?

I rode in the car for a few hours a few days after surgery. I found it a little painful, I think it was the jiggling of the car. I ended up stopping to take a percecet and then I was fine. 11 hours is a long drive. You don't say exactly when you will travel. I would say about a week out you should be alright.

I would ask my doctor.

Hey Lisa, Sorry can't help with your question but where are you from in Pittsburgh? I am in South Hills. Who was your surgeon? Mine was Dr. Mccloskey. I had my surgery on Oct. 14th.
