Get pregnant with lap band?

Hello.. Im headed today to get my first consultation and I have a question. My husband and I would like to get pregnant next may, and I have some significant weight loss I would like to make before then (100 lbs). Is the lap band a wise decision?

Conceiving was one of my most important concerns with getting banded. Actually it was one of my MAIN reasons, among being healthier...to get banded. Being severely obese.. and needing to lose lots of weight before safely, being able to try for another child... I had my daughter when I was 325..lost some gained some... that was 4 years ago. I wasnt at a healthy weight then..it was rough.

I talked to my doctors, surgeons... lapband specialist.. they ASSURED me.. that this was totally safe ( they just release the fluids through adjustment so you can get the nutrition you need during pregnancy. ) Pregnancy can happen safely, and shouldn't be feared after banding! I just got banded a week ago.,. and im looking forward to loosing weight so I can do the same!

Lap-Band is the only wise choice in your situation, as it is the only adjustable weight loss procedure available today, so not only you will lose the weight prior to your pregnancy, but also you will have control over your weight loss. If during the pregnancy, you need additional nutrition, or if you suffer from severe morning sickness, and if you want to reverse your restriction, Lap-Band is the only modality that will allow you to do so.

Best of luck!

This is also the reason why I'm having it. I'm 5'6" and 277 pounds currently. I do have a 4 year old daughter and my husband and I have been trying to conceive for a little over 2 years now and I have a miscarriage in June and another in August and all my doctors advised me to lose weight and my mother in law had lap band done almost two years ago and she told me to go for it and my doctors also recommended it. Good luck and I heard that lap band is the best way to go :)
