Question

I was banded on August 22nd and have been progressing very well. However, since I have been on mushies I can not eat but a few bites and I get a very full feeling like I have ate a four course meal. It seems like the food just gets to my stomach and sits. I know the goal of lap band, but I did not think I would feel so tight without a fill. I have been losing weight steady and have had no other real issues. Is this normal?

It's normal. It's likely due to swelling that persists for a few weeks past surgery. Enjoy it while you've got it ;)

It's normal.....I couldn't eat more than 4 oz.of liquid at a time up to 3 weeks post...

Best of luck to youp

Okay so there is something wrong with me because I was banded on August 23rd and I am hungry at night if I don't eat at least a half a cup of food!!

My doctor requires 7 days for clear liquids and 7 of full liquids; so I am not suprised you're having trouble with mushies at this point. Though I understand you are probably following your doctors orders. I would step back and perhaps stay with full liquids for a few days. I suggest having the soup (tomato, squash) and an hour later the protein shake. Spreading the food out will help with head hunger.

Thanks for the replies. I had clear liquids the day after surgery and full liquids the rest of the first week and then mushies starting on day 8. I have lost steadily until today and I have gained a pound. At this point, I don't know what is going on. Just gonna tough it out though. :)
