Side Effects

Are there side effects if you mess up on the eating stages? I was banded on June 22nd and have done pretty well with following the diet plan. Right now i'm on full liquids which includes creamy soups. I forgot mine at home today, so i went downstairs to the little store and bought a cup of noodle soup. Although couldn't eat it all, right now i fell like something needs to go through my system but feels stuck. Is that normal? I haven't had a fill yet so my band is empty.

You're probably swollen still from the surgery. You'd be better off just having the broth and not eat the noodles. The reason why they have you on the liquid stage after surgery is to give your body time to heal.

Best wishes to you newbie :)

Yes, it's possible that you've got a noodle stuck in your stoma- try drinking warm liquids to see if you can flush it down. Yes, this is one of the reasons you're supposed to be on liquids only right now. There's also the possibility that you could pop the stitches around your band by eating solids now, but that's not too likely with a noodle ;)
