2 Weeks Post-Op - How much to eat??

I am two weeks post op today and have been told to start eating soft foods. I am just needing to know portion sizes. About how many ounces total per meal do you try to get in?

At this point, I am not overly hunger but can tell it is coming back compared to what I was right after surgery. I am afraid I am not eating enough right now, but at the same time I don't want to overdo it.

Im surprised your Dr, didn't give you more specific guideline. I started on mushy foods this past monday and I've been having 3 oz of a Protein & 3 oz veg a day plus one 3 oz of cottage cheese as a snack if needed. I got a very detailed list of things I can and can't have plus serving size for each. Good Luck!

I had instructions to only eat 1/4 cup and now I can do 1/2 cup... I had my surgery May 3rd. I believe it was 1/4 till you have ur 2wks check up and from there they should advise you more on what you should eat. Every Doctor is different.

I will be two weeks post-op on Monday. I also received a list of foods I can have, but my doctor wants me on a pureed diet for 3 weeks after the 2 weeks of liquids and then I can start soft foods.

I was on 1/4 cup at a time for several weeks post-op.
