Do I have a gallstone/bladder?

I was banded 5/6 so its been about one week and a half. Th last few days or so, Ive been having pain near my rib cage that increases when I take a deep breath. I also have headaches. I have one now actually. This is the 3rd one, after taking the liquid viciodin, that Ive had in two days.

After reading other posts, and online, it seems like I may have a gallstone/bladder, but the pain is all on my left side. Can anyone tell me what this pain means???

Thank You.

Could still be gas pains from surgery. Call your surgeon if youre worried.

I just had gall bladder surgery tuesday and it started with bad pains in my side... Being that you were just banded I would say it is probably still gas from surgery... I remember after surgery i felt very store dull pain in my side.... Even after this surgery i have the same dull pain feeling in my side so I am sure it is the gas. I think you will be find because i knew something was wrong it just wasnt my side that was hurting with my gall bladder... I had tons of throwing up and heart burn.... But i would call your dr if you are worried :D

I had pain on my left side just below my ribs after surgery. I believe gall bladder pain is generally on the right and will hurt back to the shoulder blade (the classic pain, anyway). Do you think the headache could be from lack of caffeine? Or does it happen after you take the vicodin? Maybe you are reacting to it.

A quick call to your surgeon could clarify. They can change your pain meds to see if that helps the headache.

I was on a gallbladder medication for 6 months post-op to avoid forming a stone.

Hi, I was banded 5-10, and I have the same exact pain that you are describing, but I know it's gas..if you were having a gallstone attack, it would be on the right upper part of your stomach with lower and upper back pain. I would't worry about that.. Try taking chewable Gas x to help and also make sure that you are walking a lot to get rid of the gas, it's one of the tricks that really helps a lot!!!! Good luck!!!
