I will be going in for my first check up after surgery next week. Aside from how are you feeling what other things will they check on? How I'm eating, will they want to manipulate stomach

I'd imagine the responses to this will vary as much as pre and post-op diets. I know some folks who's Dr's see their patients one week post-surgery. Personally, my first surgeon's appointment is about 3 weeks after.. I'd expect him to check on my incisions, my weight loss and to make sure everything is going well. I don't think I'm getting a fill until 6 weeks post op.

I did not even see the surgeon, I saw the PA for my post op. Basically she just asked how I was doing and if any problems. She did not even look at my incisions which surprised me. I mean if I did not work in the medical field and know what to look for my I mean my incisions could be infected for all they know.

I know what you mean Jess!! People do things so differently too. Did you start calcium right away? My "book" says to start vitamins in 2 wks. so I thought we need to have time for healing before we take them.

Southern Leo - I had been taking gummy vitamins, fiber supplements, and the viactiv type calcium prior to surgery. So I had asked my surgeon prior to surgery when I could start them again and he said like 5 days, so I waited the 5 days after surgery.
