In addition to the gas the pain meds can give you nausea. Try to wean yourself off of htem as soon as possible. Liquid tylenol worked for me.

thanks for the support...I started thinking what did I do to my self, how about if i can never eat again without being in pain, started panicking but find much comfort in knowing I am not alone!!!!

You are not alone!

I was banded on Dec. 29th and I felt the hunger pain the second day after the surgery. I've been drinking camomille tea, home made chicken broth (my mom put a lot of vegetables for nutrition purpuses) proteing shake three times a day and jello. The chicken broth has helped a lot is just like water but it calms the hunger pain. I even felt the saliva coming up my mouth as if I had never eaten before. Day four will be much better for you.

YES!!!! I was so starving it made me feel sick, on top of that my throat was so sore from the anesthesia that I couldn't take it, and the nurses would not give me anything but ice chips for 24 hours. That night I snuck down to the cafeteria and got some hot chocolate which helped. Although I was fine I certainly am not recommending this though.

My surgery was Monday Dec 27, that horrible pain is gone now as I can take Protein drinks.....
