Hi everyone!
My name is Jillian and I am 25 years old. I am scheduled for banding on December 23rd (at 7:30am to be precise!). It's been such a long time coming and I'm excited (and nervous) to start my weight loss journey.
I've been struggling with my weight for about six years. I've tried EVERYTHING--Atkins, Nutrisystem, Weight Watchers, etc. I've worked with numerous dieticians and personal trainers only to have short term success. My weight loss would eventually plateau but I'd still be considered obese. It was incredibly frustrating.
I know this is going to be a huge lifestyle change. However, I feel like I need to be proactive NOW and deal with my weight difficulties before they worsen. Luckily, I don't have any medical issues associated with my weight (normal blood pressure, not diabetic, normal cholesterol, etc.) I'm concerned that if I stay at my current weight (5'6" and 271 lbs.) or gain additional weight, I'll eventually have obesity-related health problems in the future. Therefore, I feel like the surgery is a very necessary step in order to get down to a healthy weight.
I look forward to hearing everyone's experiences and sharing my experience as well. :-)
