Hello from Ohio

New to this site, and love it by the way!!!

I finally after a year and two months of insurance hoops have a surgery date of January 9, 06. I am so excited that it is finally here I cant wait. If anyone has any suggestions or things I should remember please let me know. I will need alot of reminding and all the support I can get. I'm looking forward to this journey and cannot wait to be a new healthier me!

Hi Kim - and WELCOME to LBT!

my advice is to READ READ READ! Most of the main news coveringpre and post banding has already been discussed here, its just to find it in the archives. Glad you found us.

If you have any questions, just ask! We love newbies! :(

I have definately been reading alot. The good the bad and the ugly. I've been reading alot about grieving for food in the beginning? Is this true?

Hi, I am new to posting on the site, but have been reading your posting's for month's. I was banded on April 12, 2005. To date I have lost 83 lbs. I feel wonderful. I feel like I have a whole new life now.

Congrats!!!! Yippeee!!! lol Take Gas X!!! You will need after surgery. Get up and walk as soon as you can, helps with the gas pains! My gas pains hurt the worst at first. Your portal area will most likely be sore. Take it easy, don't expect too much out of yourself too quick, this is major surgery. Follow the post op diet. And keep checking your support group messages!! I am so excited for you!!

thank you all for your replies. I will keep you posted. I have pre-op testing next week and meet with the nutrionist again before surgery. I know I'm supposed to be excited for the holidays but this has kind of taken over!!!!!
