band loosened?

Hey, I got my surgery 7 wks ago. I healed up and got my first fill at 4 weeks, then went back 2 wks later since it was not tight enough.

For about 2 days after the second fill I could not keep anything but about two bites down. I just "spat up" (no real stomach acid, just stuck in my throat). Then half way through the third day I was able to eat a little more, but then really threw up for the first time. Ever since that I've been able to eat about 1.5 cup of food, and have not had any problems with it getting stuck. Could I have I damaged/loosened something when I threw up?

Any advice from the more experienced would be appreciated!

Perhaps you had something stuck that finally came up?

It's hard to say for certain. Might be worth a call to your surgeon's office to check in. Vomiting is very hard on the band. Since there was a big change in the volume you could eat after, I'd want to be checked out.

probley not but sounds like you had acid reflux and your band tighten up causing you to throw up if u are still doing this u need to call your dr cause u could damage your band if u keep having these problems

Thanks cocoa! I think I'll call them tomorrow.

Hey, I called in and the nurse thought that I was probably having problems because I was not on liquids long enough after my fill. I'm supposed to do full liquids for 48 hours after my fill and only then try solids. I'll be sure to do that next time...

Oh my! Sorry you missed that little detail! Thanks for the update.

Are you feeling fine now?

I had much stricter rules after my last fill than I usually have. Sometimes it is hard to catch everything they tell you. Or they think they told you, but they told the last person.

NOW you know! :)

Yeah!! Now I know! :) Not likely to forget again either!

I'm doing fine now, and feeling great! Thanks for asking! :w00t:
