Protein Shakes

This probably sounds like a reeeeally stupid question--so sorry...

I usually just have a protein shake for breakfast everyday because it's easy. I've heard that a lot of people are drinking protein shakes in between meals if they're hungry. If so, how many protein drinks do you have a day? I've never done this, but if it's "ok," I really want to start so I'm not "starving" until the next meal...

My doctor frowns on Protein Shakes once you've moved on to solid food. I do on occation have a Premier Protein Shake (30 g protein 160 calories) prior to going to the gym since the time between lunch and dinner is long and I exercise in between. One thing to consider is perhaps having a small (1-2 oz) of chicken breast as a snack. That might actually stay with you longer than a shake.

I usually have the same Premier Protein shake for breakfast every morning. It holds me over to lunch time.

I guess my problem is with portions, still. I just had my 4th fill on 10/1 and I'm now at 7cc in my 10cc band. I think I'm really close to my sweet spot, but I still feel like I have to watch my portions so I don't overeat. Sometimes, after my 1/2 cup meal, I might still be hungry, which boggles my mind.
