Hello from texas

Hello everyone. My name is Chris. I was just approved on 9/23/10. My surgery is scheduled for Oct 27. I am so excited to finally have a chance to be healthy.. I am 35 yrs old, 6ft 350lbs. My goal weight is somewhere around 220.

I am also having some work done to my shoulder at the same time. Most of the doctors and other medical ppl i have talked to keep telling me that i am going to hurt. I am starting to get a little nervous. This will be my first surgery, so i guess my issue is all the unknown.

I watched my wife go through this procedure Nov 20 2009. She has had a pretty easy time with the band. She has lost 40lbs so far.

I welcome your support, encouragement and advice.

Chris

Howdy neighbor!

I felt zero pain following Lapband surgery. I was honestly a little disappointed it was so quick and painless. It didn't leave my with many war stories. Hopefully that makes 1 less thing to be anxious about.

I can't offer much information that your wife's experience hasn't already provided you with. I am in Keller also and trying to get a local support group together.

My surgeon (Dr. Kim) offers one once a month at his office but sometimes something less formal is called for.

hi chris..always nice to see someone from Tx! :smile2: I'm down by fort hood. I guess i have a high tolerance for pain but i can't lie..i am really sore right now. i'm trying to move around to start to feel better so i can get back to my wifely duties..:(

good luck to ya and looking forward to hearing about your journey!
