I'm from Keller. I was banded oct 27. I too need some motivation.

Hello everyone, Sorry I've been MIA for so long. Been so dang busy with the new schedule. On the good side of things the shoulder is working great now that I'm back. Been having so problems with the band though. Went in for a fill two weeks ago. Talked to PA about the first bite problems I have been having. Turns out it is allergy problems. We in to se allergy specialist today. Went through allergy testing and crap I'm allergic to almost everything. Which sucks. I get to start allergy SHOTS!!!! Yikes. Hopefully I can get things under control. I just found out last night that my dads brother has prostate cancer. My moms sister may have thyroid cancer, and a close friend of the famy that has been battleing colan cancer now has tumors in her liver. This sucks Enough of the bad news, Thank you for all the birthday wishes on facebook. I am still reading just don't have alot of time to reply. Hugs to you all Chris

Evening all!!! Sorry for being MIA far a while. Things are crazy here at work. Not getting much time on the computer. Not getting much sleep for that matter. Came back to work and have been runnin my butt off. Was put back on my normal rts. We are rebidding this week so my schedule and rts will change next week. I get really worried at bid time. I've been here almost 9 yrs but I have 26 ppl in front of me. Atleast I'm not driver number 96. Enough of my work crap. I'm not really sure how to respond to the question about how the band is doing. I'm am 4 months out this past Sunday. Haven't really lost any weight but haven't gained any either. Been having some first bite issues. Not really sure what's going on with that. I have been eating alot less than I was. I am thinking that now that I am back to work and my body gets used to throwing the cases again that things will finally start going. I have been trying to get in as much walking as I can. Anywhoo I'm off to try to get some sleep have a long day ahead of me. Hugs and love Chris PS March 3 9 am

Evening all, Sorry been a little crazy round here. Dad is doing pretty good. I think we have everything working with him. Things are going ok with me I think. i go back to the doctor today. I think I am still 2 weeks out from going back to work. I am ready I think. Will know around noon. Still a little sore but range of motion is really good. I've been getting set up to get my garage/shop cleaned up. I have a bunch of projects that i need to get done this winter/spring. I am going to be doing quite a a few things for a silent auction our walking group will be having later in the year. Anyways Hugs to you all Chris

Morning all, just wanted to check in and let everyone know i'm still here. Things are about the same here. Just found out that dad may have to have another surgery. The port they put in is not sitting in the right place. They may have to open him up and fix it. They are trying to do it without surgery now. He is on a colanoscopy prep lax right now. I told him yesterday that I didn't need a doctor or xrays to know he was full of it. LOL. Leaving for my parents this evening. Deb has an appt for another fill and grab my son and we are off. By the way I went in for my 3rd fill yesterday. Lost 5 pounds since my last visit 2 weeks ago. Well gotta run. Hugs Chris

Evening all, OMG I don't remember the last time I was this tired and sore. Debbie and I worked the National Cheerleader Association thing today at the Dallas Convention Center. We worked a food stand. We are doing this as part of a group we belong to called No Walker Left Behind. This is the group we are doing the Susan G. Koman 3 day breast cancer walk with. The company that handles all the food service for the center is paying us a portion of proceeds for our voulenteer work. This is the first real strenuous thing I have done post surgery. We got there at 8 am and didn't leave there till 8pm. This was the first time we have done this. We used this as a training period before we do the NFL experience the end of the month. The convention center is hosting a 9 day Superbowl party. We will be working our butts off those days. I am actually not that physically tired as much as my feet hurt. BUT before you think I am just hitching I have some good news about it. Not sure if this would be called a NSV or not but I spent 12 hrs standing running a cash drawer and my back never got tired or starting hurting. B4 Lapband I would have been hurting by noon with all that standing and my knees would have been aching. Not so today Sorry about the post last night. Just have alot on my plate right now. This being off this long has caused some problems. Nothing we won't be able to get through just need to go back to work full time. This 1/3 pay sucks. Shoulder is getting better though. Been able to sleep in the bed since Christmas, not sleeping through the night but am getting more rest than I was. Physical therapy is moving along great. Finally started adding some weight to my workouts. It's been a slow process as there have been some movements that were restricted till last week. My PT thinks mid feb. I hlpe so. Dad is doing good. He started his treetments this week. Right know he is doing them manually which meens 4 treTments a day. He will start the machine treatments next week. We are going up there on thursday evening for the weekind. As far as the band goes, it's progressing slow. I have cut back on my portions a lot. Still eating more than I like but it is getting better. I go for another fill this week so hopefully that will help some. Karen, Be careful through OK and TX panhandle. We are supposed to be getting winter storm as far south as Dallas. I know the winter crap you ate used too is not near as bad as generally get here but the panhandle can get bad. Have a safe trip and if you guys decide to come a more southerly route than let me know. As fas as the Chicago get together. I don't think there is anyway Debbie and I could do it this year. Maybe, better yet more than likely, meeting somewhere next year would be great. Hugs and Love to you all Chris

Happy birthday Cheri. You share birthdays with a very special person. My wife is ## today, but she says she is only 39. She had to change if from 29 cause her oldest turned 22 this year. Deb, my DS and I are in Shreveport, LA for NYE. We just got here a few min ago. Reception here at her parents isn't great so I will check in as I can. Fill went great. They added 2.2cc today. I have gained some weight back since last appt. I asked them to be a little more aggressive. They also said my dr will allow me to come back in two weeks if I need too. They use lidocaine first ti deaden the the harpoon needle for the fill. LOL. That's what it looked like last time. It's really not that bad. The nurse that I had today was freakin great. I never felt the lidocaine stick. My son said that I did great. He said he thought I would cry like he does, but that he didn't know his daddy was so tough. I just love my baby boy. So had some popcorn chicken for lunch and some chicken broth for dinner. Going to fix protien shake shortly. Tina, just remember you have support here. I know some if not all of us have someone who is not supportive of our decicion to have WLS. These ppl are typically not educated enough. We are all here for you if u need us just ask. Sorry not on much lately. Post season NCAA football. Hugs. Chris

Sitting here in lapband office waiting to get my second fill. I have my son with me today. I told him that daddy was going to get stuck with 2 needles and he just about cried. So I have to be good for him. He doesn't know I have a fear of needles. Anyway I hope everyone is doing well. Congrata Jessica on getting to onederland. Hugs Chris

Evening everyone, well we got home about 6 this evening. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you all but been busy getting dad settled. Surgery went great. A little bit longer than expected. He has been napping on and off most of the evening. I think the worst part about this for me is my dads lack of modisty. He flashed several ppl at the hospital and me several times. Not to mention that I had to help get him dressed. I love my father but there is some things as a son or daughter you shouldn't have to see. Anyway we stopped at chick-fil-a for an early dinner. I had the nugget kids meal and ate about 3/4 of it. That made me feel great. I have done this three times since being banded and it's so cool. Thank you all for the prayers and wishes. My dad is having a catheter put in his lower abdomen for Peritoneal dialysis. He is in stage 5 renal failure. His kidneys are only at 14 percent. He has had diabeties for 37 years and it is just taking it's toll. He lost sight in one of his eyes back in 94. It has been really hard on me seeing him in this condition. He has always been able to do anything and now there is not much he can do without help. We have to be there at 7am cst and surgery is at 9. I will post as soon as I know something. Hugs Chris

Howdy all, Sorry I haven't been on here in a few days. It's been kind of crazy here. Trying to gt ready for my week long trip to my parents. Dad is having his surgery tomorrow and i am getting nervous. I keep telling myself that he will be fine but can't force me to believe it. If you haven't figured it out yet I am pretty much a worry wort. I know this yet still do it. Can;t help myself most of the time. Anyway I will post tomorrow when all is done and let you know. On another note went to my support group meeting the other day. It went pretty well. Talked to the Lapband advocate that does the meeting about them getting more aggressive with my fills. She said that they wont do t was told by one of the nurses that goes to the meeting that my dr will put in my chart to be more aggressive if i will just call him and let him know what is going on. I haven't had the time to call him yet but will on mon or tues. Shoulder is doing pretty good. Range of motion is getting better. I am right on track with therapy. I still Have another month before I go back to the dr so we will have to wait till then to see how it goes. I hop everyone has a good week. Hugs Chris

Sorry everyone I haven't gotten back to you all sooner. Going ok around here. Shoulder is doing ok. Went to dr tuesday. I am off work till at least the 28 of Jan. That Just sucks. Oh well I was expecting this when I had the surgery. Haven't been sleeping much here lately. Still having trouble sleeping. I am scheduled for my next fill on the 29. Deb and i are going to my support group meeting on monday evening. I am going to talk to them about being a little more aggressive with my fills. I feel like I am in bandster HE!!, that I have been hearing about. I have gained back some of the weight that I had lost. I know it is a slow process,but this add 3 drops and come back in a month and we will add 3 more is crap. I know I am doing my part. My quantity has decreased and the quality is so much better than what I was eating. I know that I need to get out and walk more. When I can get back to work that will help also. I guess I am just sick and tired of being unable to do much,and feeling a little bit sorry for myself. Ok enough with the pity party. Hugs to all Chris

Morning, sorry been crazy here the last couple of days. My dryer went out this week. I found it with wet clothes in it on wed night. Went to laundry mat Thursday and in the middle of doing laundry I started to drop the basket of clothes I had folded. I tried to catch it without using my left arm and twisted my back. Hurts pretty bad. PT us going well. Had better range today than I've had yet. Just found out they are going to do surgery on my dad on the 20th of dec. They are putting a port in at his belly button. It will take 6-8 weeks to heal and then they will start his dialisis(sp). I will be going up there on the 19th. Starting to get nervous already. Sorry, but I am a worry wort. Debbies finger has almost healed. Other than being shaped wrong and a little sore still u would hardly know it had happened. Well o think my muscle relaxer is kicking in finally.
