3rd day post op - is this normal?

Hi,

I was banded on Monday morning and everything seemed fine until this morning. I wasnt able to take the antibiotic (came back up), and having difficulty swallowing Water, tea and crystal light. Even SF popsicles burn while it goes down.

Is this normal?

Thanks for your help!

My guess is that you have some delayed swelling from the surgery. However, I would call your doc. and let them know what's going on. They certainly know more than me. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks, I took your suggestion and called my surgeon. His Nurse Practioner had me go in and she unfilled my band. I didn't even know that it already had been filled with 3 oz of saline.

She had me drink after she removed the Fluid, and the Water went down smoothly without burning.

Yeah!

I'm so glad I found this board.. thank you for your advice!
