  1. Hi, I was banded on 9/27 - and would really appreciate to have a buddy through this process. Having a rough time with head hunger - and then the next day - I don't even want to eat a bite, or even drink a drop of Water.. Is this normal? Thanks for your help..
  2. Congratulations! I'm so excited for you!!
  3. Hi~ I was banded on Sept 27th as well - and have seemed to hit a wall. I've read other posts that this is normal when you start eating normal food but I am discouraged. I've had one fill - 3cc in a 10cc band, and do not feel any restriction. I'm scheduled for the 2nd fill Dec 2nd. I'm having more issues with the head hunger the past couple weeks which I think is related to stress. I'm looking forward to chating with you all - and sharing our experiences. Good luck on your journey~ Trish
  4. I would love to join -- :frown:
  5. I would call your surgeon. I experienced the exact same thing two days after I was banded, he had me to into his office and get an unfill. I had no idea he had filled to 3.5 cc's when he placed the band. The unfill did the trick. Good luck on your journey~
  6. Hi, I was banded on 9/27/10, received my first fill on Tuesday, Oct 26th, and haven't felt any restriction. I'm on mushee food now but still get hungry 3-3 1/2 hours after I eat ... Shouldn't I feel something when I eat? They placed 3 cc in a 10cc band... Appreciate any suggestions or words of wisdom.. thank you so much~~
  7. I think each surgeon has their own requirements. My surgeon has me taking 2 flinstone's chewable multi-Vitamins, calcium citrate, Iron supplment (all of these daily) and then every other day I take a B-Complex. It seemed like a lot in the begining - but I'm getting used to it. Just check with your surgeon and follow their instructions.. good luck on your journey~
  8. hi, Today my doctor took me off two of my blood pressure medications - after only 2 1/2 wks post op. Can't believe I've already lost 21 lbs. Hopefully I will be off the last one soon. Starting to feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel - just want to be healthy and active. Trish
  9. I was banded 9/27/10 - and scheduled for my first fill on Oct 22nd.
  10. I didn't know that they made liquid calcium citrate .. thanks!
  11. Thank you for all the responses~ I did check two pharmacys today for chewable, no luck. I will give the Bariatric Advantage a try. Thanks again~
  12. My surgeon only had me on Clear liquids the first 3 days, then day 4 to 6, regular liquids which included Soups, Protein drinks etc. Then day 6 through day 9, mushy food (scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, mashed potatoes and yogurt). Day 10 on soft foods and steamed veggies, day 14 can attempt regular food but stay away from Pasta, bread etc.. It so strange to me that we are all on such different post op diets. I haven't had any problems except my 3rd day, could not swallow any liquids at all. Called my surgeon, he had me come in and he unfilled my band by 3 1/2 cc's. going in for a fill mid october. When he attaches the band, he fills with 4 cc's - I hadn't even known that...
  13. Hi, Great suggestion! I purchased her Power Fit series that also came with 5 dvds and a resitance band about a month ago in preparation to exercise a few weeks after surgery. (I'm 7 days post-ope now and probably can't do this series for a few wks) Your set sounds sounds amazing and it was the same price I paid. Good luck on your journey!
  14. Hi, My surgeon wants me to take Calcium citrate daily, but the two brands I've bought so far are large pills. Evening breaking them in half is very difficult to go down. Would anyone mind sharing the brand you are using that is working for you? Thanks so much!
  15. Congrats! that's so exciting!
  16. Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you~ :smile2:
  17. Thanks, I took your suggestion and called my surgeon. His Nurse Practioner had me go in and she unfilled my band. I didn't even know that it already had been filled with 3 oz of saline. She had me drink after she removed the Fluid, and the Water went down smoothly without burning. Yeah! I'm so glad I found this board.. thank you for your advice!
  18. Hi, I was banded on Monday morning and everything seemed fine until this morning. I wasnt able to take the antibiotic (came back up), and having difficulty swallowing Water, tea and crystal light. Even SF popsicles burn while it goes down. Is this normal? Thanks for your help!

  21. In less than 24 hours, I will finally be banded! I'm really excited but nervous too. I think my biggest fear is that the band will slip or the port will flip. Good luck to all who will be banded this week~
  22. Definately we will keep in touch! I wish you the best for next week
