October 2010 Bandsters!!

I finally got my date today!! Woohoo! Feel like I have been waiting forever. October 18th they offered me the 5th but b/c of my work schedule I could not do it :) I feel so much better though that I have a date and can now make plans, with time off work etc...

Who else is getting banded in October? I think it will be nice to have others to compare feelings and stories with, as we are going through this.

Good Luck to everyone! New Chapter here I come

Congrats to all! My date is set for October 4, 2010.. I am excited, scared and wanting this to be over ... so I can start my new life.

Yes so far that I have read!!

My surgery is October 1st!!!! I start my liquid diet tomorrow and I think I am more nervous about that than I am the surgery. I only have a 5-day diet that consists of two protein shakes and sugar-free jello and pudding.

Banding will take place 10/2. I am on day 4 of Carnation Instant Breakfast and am doing OK. Whenever my hubbie is eating I take a "whiff' which I find somewhat helpful. It does help to have a good imagination!

My stress right now is work. I am on the schedule as FMLA and my co-workers are either worried or nosey about my absence since they keep asking me what the deal is. I am very private about this and have told 2 work friends only.

My boss has been distant and called me in on Monday to discuss my ability to "cope" and mentioned my FMLA 3 different times. My work performance is and always has been stellar. I feel picked on and think she is angry that I have not confided in her and am taking time off.

Help me sort this out please. I don't want to go into surgery stressed out:crying:

Bless you all!

Hi everyone!

I am new to the board. My surgery is on October 5th, and today is my first day on the liquid diet.

I'm nervous but excited!

Best of Luck in your up coming surgery. I'm going to be banded on October 7th meeee tooo scared but know this is the right thing to do. My biggest problem is were having company from Canada come to town Las Vegas to see us and want to treat us to dinner etc. on the 9th. I just told them I'm having minor surgery and leaving it at that. Have you stocked up on items before the surgery? I have been out and purchased soups, jello, puddings, apple sause etc. Any suggestions from anyone out there on other items I will need please let me know asap!!! Thanks for all the support and good luck to all the October people!!! Looking forward to hearing from you after surgery!!! Good Luck to Nov, Dec also!! Please let me know if I can be of help!!

Do I tell my sister about my surgery or not? She is a very negative person and had gastric bypass 5 years ago and still suffers from throwing up and is pretty miserable. I dont need any negativity around me and I want this to be a success!!! Help!

The only people that I'm telling is my mom, sis, her hubby, and my boyfriend...nobody else, and I have a large family. I just feel like my 3 brothers and their wifes don't need to know, and my dad has a big mouth. I want to be able to tell people that I know will be supportive and I don't want anyone's negative energy around me because this process is hard enough without there negativity around me.

If you don't want to tell her then don't. This is about you and your journey and you want to make sure that your process is as smooth as possible to solidify your success. Keeping it positive is important, plus you don't need that stress.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Hey people!

I am banded October the 6th... 10 more days. I am so excited. Already had my GI and pre op tests and now I am just a sitting duck.

VAViv - GI is pretty simple - the liquid they make you drink is like no taste liquid yogurt ( Barium ) It is a little bit minty. I asked if I could take some home - they didn't think so...

Anyway, add me as your friend - I would love to share my experiences with you and hear all about it from you...

Add me!

I'm getting well excited for my Banding on 27 October in Belgium. I tell anyone who stands still long enough about it. I'm going to have the Cambridge powder shakes and soups from 1st October and try and come off my pepsi max slowly. I will lose weight on Cambridge then post op diet for couple of weeks so that will be a good weight loss start. Good luck everyone and keep us informed of your progress. Amazed!

I am getting banded October 6th!!! Only ten days to go!!! I am so excited!!!

hi sarah....good luck...my date is the 4th of oct...i am happy and scared all at the same time....best to you...pegs

Keep only postive and supportive people close to you. I'm not tell people at work all negative or thinking it is an easy way out. Keep in touch!! Taking Vacation days from work and good eating habits!!!

Hello all!!! I finally have my surgery date Oct 13 2010!! I am so excited I have waited so long for this. I will keep you all posted and toa ll my other October bandsters let the journey begin:thumbup:

Hi, I am due to be banded October 11th. I start my pre-op diet tomorrow and am really nervous about it. The no caffeine is going to kill me. I am a diet coke funkie. Very few people know that I am having this done and I want to keep it that way. Those that do know are very supportive and those are the ones you want on your team. Is anyone from the North Mississippi area?

Have you stocked up on items before the surgery? I have been out and purchased soups, jello, puddings, apple sause etc. Any suggestions from anyone out there on other items I will need please let me know asap!!!

Today I added some Crystal Light to my vanilla Bariatic Advantage shake and it was yummy. If u want to get some Crystal Light it might be helpful. I used grapefruit flavor which I love.
