I am 6 days post op and I am having a heck of a time getting food and liquid in. I am just not hungry and once I do my protien shake in the morning I am so full I can not eat. I am working on it:eek:

I am 5 days out and I have also experienced a lot of burping but I feel so much better when I do. I miss drinking from a straw but from what I am told the straw introduces extra air in your belly that can be very uncomfortable. So far all is well just need an energy boost and good nights sleep.

I am 5 days post op and this full liquid diet is a bear but I am encouraged to make it through this. Everything tastes horrible so i am just making sure I get my protein shakes in during the day. I am drinking water as well but I stay full so long its hard to get all my water in. All I can do is keep on trying because we have a long way to go!!

Hello all!!! I finally have my surgery date Oct 13 2010!! I am so excited I have waited so long for this. I will keep you all posted and toa ll my other October bandsters let the journey begin:thumbup:

I went to meet with my surgeon yesterday and I left feeling like crap!! A few weeks ago i was told I just need to have a pysch eval and 6mo diet history. I made my appt and thought i was well on my way until I found out yesterday that I have to have three more test and meet with the nutrionalist before they will submit anything to my insurance. To top it all off the Dr. was trying to tell me that I should concider getting gastric bypass because my BMI is 51. I said no I want a band but I am so frustrated:cursing:

I was wondering if anyone knows how much a psych eval. is if the insurance does not cover it?

Hey LaShonda, I wish you well on journey and great job with the current weight loss!! I have been trying to get the Lapband for some time now but the insurance I had has this as a restriction. I no longer have insurance through my job because I am not working due to a knee injury I sustained while working out. I have to have surgery on my knee on Tues. I currently have medicaid and I dont know if they will pay for me to have it done? I am researching all I can and i have also tried to purchased private insurance but they won't cover me due to my BMI being 51. What do I do?
