October 2010 Bandsters!!

I finally got my date today!! Woohoo! Feel like I have been waiting forever. October 18th they offered me the 5th but b/c of my work schedule I could not do it :) I feel so much better though that I have a date and can now make plans, with time off work etc...

Who else is getting banded in October? I think it will be nice to have others to compare feelings and stories with, as we are going through this.

Good Luck to everyone! New Chapter here I come

Thanks PitPat for the encouragement. It's nice "talking" to people who get it!!

I was banded on the 13th..........feeling good.......had to stay overnite was in to much pain to go home!!!!i have been out of work 2 weeks return on monday....i have enjoyed my time off.....

You will be fine. I know what you mean about the lack of support, but interestingly, now that it is done, my partner is much more inclined to encourage and support me. Maybe it's because he realises it's too late now to change my mind, and he is going with the flow! Anyhow, I hope you have as smooth an experience as I have. I'm still feeling really good! And best of all, I have absolutely zero interest in food, which is just fantastic! Long may it last! :-)

Greetings, my surgery date is Monday 10/25/2010. I am not nervous or excited, just glad the day is getting closer. I started my liquid diet today and all I got to say is I thought I pee alot at night, but now I can add the day time as well. Good luck to all.

Good luck to you too oldguy. Yes the day is getting closer but seems to have dragged by this past week.

Ish, glad to hear that you are doing so well and that the support is there for you. When will you see your Dr. again?

Surgery on MONDAY!!! I have finally resigned myself to the liquid diet and I don't feel like I am dying. I have lost a few lbs! :)

Kim, what time is your surgery scheduled for? Mine is 7:30 AM. We can send each other positive surgery vibes! :)

YAH!!! I'm glad you feel better about the liquid diet. After a certain time, you just accept it for what it is. Keep me informed and up to date and if you want to call me, that will be fine. I will have you in my prayers.

I feel better today than I have most of the week. That is a good thing! Not as sore...but still some swelling . But hey....It's all good.

Blessings,

Pat

Oh lucky you. Monday! Tomorrow!!! Will be thinking of you. Trying to catch up on paperwork and housework before I leave on Tuesday. And vie lost a few pounds too. Over the moon.

Morning everyone,

I'm just back from a brisk 30 min early morning walk, and feeling great! I did take some pain meds before heading off though, as I figure it is better to get the mobility going, to aid recovery and results. To be honest though I haven't had much pain or discomfort really, I've slept through the past 2 nights without any meds, and am moving quite well.

I want to wish kimturk71 and lzj21248 all the best for your surgery today, looking forward to seeing your posts, and amazed1, not long now!! :blushing:

Hi Pit Pat - I was banded the same day as you. Feeling good but still feeling very tender by the port. Feel fine when I am walking but very sore getting off of bed or chair. Can't wait to be a week older - how about you??? Good luck...

Ish, thanks for thinking of me. Getting down to the wire here. In about 12 hours I will leave the house for the surgery center and come home with a whole new life ahead of me.

And I'm so glad to hear how well you are doing. I can only hope and pray I have the same results.

Best of Luck to Kim tomorrow also and all the good folks coming after. Cheers!!

Kimturk71 and lzj21248, my surgery is also tomorrow morning at 8:30AM.:smile2: It is nice to know that we are all in there together. I don't know about you but I haven't been too nervous yet, just very anxious. I wish you both the best of luck and we will have to compare stories when it is all over. :blushing:

Until then,

Sarah
