New...excited and NERVOUS! :)

Hey all! I am getting my band on 09/10/10. I am so very nervous about the liquid diet. Does anyone have any tips (I am sure you do!) for how to survive? I am a lover of food...and I am very afraid for the period right after surgery. My doctor is not having me start the liquid or pre op diet...what do you all suggest?

Much love :)

Hi Sarah - this is my first post

I was going to write the exact same title - and guess what?

I am having my surgery on the 10th as well!!!

My surgeon is putting me on a liquid diet for the 2 days preceding the banding.

I am worried about the first couple of weeks as well. I am scared, but there seems to be a wonderful support group here. If you are interested we can be band buddies and email one another with concerns/exciting news/fears...

Hello ladies,

Welcome to the forum! I was on a liquid diet for two weeks before and two weeks after surgery. You may find that you're not hungry post op because of the swelling. My surgeon allowed me to have all kinds of soup, sugar free puddings and popcicles, water, of course, Crystal Lite, Jello. No doubt you will be given a list of the things you can have. I found that coming here and sharing with those having surgery the same time as I was, reading posts and asking questions of those who went before me, really helped.

Good luck to you both. .
