I did a stupid thing and need help

I know that I am not suppose to use any product with aspirin or ibuprofen, but I had a horrible migraine and took two excedrin migraine tabs that are enteric coated, since that I have had bad chest pain that has not subsided. Would one dose of medicine cause a ulcer that quick or is it maybe inflamation?:)

Is it possible that the pill(s) are stuck? I have a problem getting big pills down sometimes. Perhaps a drink of warm tea would help it go down if it is stuck.

I hope you feel better soon.

Sue

Don't worry you can't cause an ulcer so quickly. I also think the pills are probably stuck. You might need to throw up because they might be stuck in your esophagus, which in turn would give you horrible chest pain. Don't worry I don't think you have caused any permanent harm.. Good luck..

Thank you I will try the hot drink and see if that helps.

In the future, you may want to try the children's chewables ibuprofen and see if that will cut it. Take with a glass of water to flush it past the band. Otherwise, talk to your doc about getting Rx migraine medication. I take Relpax and it's a small orange pill I have no problems with. Better than being stuck. Sometimes, if I catch it early the ibuprofen will kick it. You can find the chewables at a drug store like CVS or Walgreen's under their own brand. Way cheaper than Motrin.

my doctor said ocassional use of ibuprfin is ok. I have an old shoulder injury that still sometimes gets inflamed and take something for that.

as far as the pill possibly getting stuck....this just happened to me on an antibiotic (even though it was cut in half). I would recomend doing liquids for at least 24 hours. I didn't and attempted to eat and had a horrible pb episode cuz I was still swollen from the pill episode. soooo morale of the story? drink your liquids to help ease the swelling! feel better soon!

Thanks for the info and support. I am still in pain, but not as bad. I think that the pills got stuck and have caused some swelling, so I am doing liquids today to see if it gets better. I have had no PBing and were unable to bring up anything when I tried last night.
