A port question

Hi,

I was banded on 7-19. I was wondering is it normal to have swelling over the port site...or can anyone else feel their port?

Thanks,

Kristie

my port is just to the right of my belly button. I had a single incision surgery through the belly button so I was a "lttle" swollen arounf that area after surgery for awhile. I can feel my port when I press in that area or sometimes when I bend over to pick something up off the floor. Other than that It doesn't bother me.

Mine still hurts if I bang it against the grocery cart or the kitchen counter or something. My PA says that's normal though.

I can feel my port, but I don't recall any swelling. Mine is located about midway between my belly button and my boobs.

I am very swollen around the port incision and its all bloated but I dont feel my port yet but i havnt pressed hard enough to feel it,im not even sure where it is!

I was more swollen around the port site than the other incisions. I did put a cold pack on the site in the evening for a few days. Basically the soreness went away by day 10 or so.

I don't recall any swelling. You may want to check with your dr just to make sure.

I agree, you shouldn't have any swelling at this point.... get it checked.

It was sore but I didn't really notice swelling. Even after an adjustment I get sore at the port site.
