Pureed Foods = Disgusting!

Does anyone else find it really gross to stick your dinner in a blender and eat it? I am 7 days into the pureed foods stage post op and cannot make myself eat blended up food! I tried the first day I was able and my husband started gaging when he saw it and then I started gaging. It even smelled kinda gross. Honestly, it looked like vomit. And minus the stomach acids, thats what it is. Anyway, I can't do it. So I've been eating foods that are the consistency of pureed foods but not actually pureeing any foods, making my choices slim and making me very bored of this stage. Any ideas on foods to eat? Any thoughts on this gross eating habit that we are supposed to do for weeks?

I did not put anything into a blender other than vegie Soup.My mushies consisted of:-

yogurt,soft cheese,eggs,minced meat,oats,weetbix,veggies mashed with gravy,over cooked pasta(made some great tuna lasagne),baby fruit etc.

I agree that putting a meal into a blender and having it all mushed together sounds horrible.

LOL, I could never bring myself to do it either!

Yeah putting a whole meal in a blender does sound gross!!! When I got to soft foods however I did put chicken and fish in the food processer to make a sort of salad- but it comes out like tuna.. Good Luck!!

I didn't put anything in the blender. I'll try to think of things I ate :

soup

yogurt

oatmeal

cream of wheat

pudding

chili (chewed well)

lots of Protein shakes

I'm on full liquids right now, I blended my veggie soup last night and thought I was about to gag. I ended up eating eat & it tasted Ok - just the process of blending it was a little gross for me.

Uggggg i was so looking forward to some food. I am on liquids right now. I am off to the drs tomorrow for my post op and the ok to start mushies cant wait for eggs and mashed potatoes lol. But the more i am reading it doesnt sound like i am going to like it. I am open to suggestions also. Best of luck everone!

i'm still on mushies but the only thing i put in the blender was some bean soup when i first started on mushies and some grilled chicken breast. i don't want to drink it i want to chew it lol i've been eating the typical things everyone else has. baked or grilled fish is awesome!!

yesterday I blended up some chicken salad and while it would have been good "whole" and it smelled good, it was NASTY tasting. The consistency made me gag and I just couldn't do it. I'm going to avoid blending much stuff (especially meats blech!) if possible.

I had a soft-scrambled egg this morning. And I have a lite yogurt ready for lunch (w/ a tblsp of drymilk mixed in).

One of my first mushies was mashed avo with tuna. Yummy.
