Hi all,
I finally had my procedure done on June 9th 2010 after months of doctors visits and changing habits. Now on my 4th day of postop. Its been a crazy trip but Im on my way to living healthy! I've been lurking here during my pre-op but I finally registered to celebrate my procedure. I really think having a support network is a MAJOR help, I wouldn't suggest going solo through this whole ordeal as there are tons of helpful information from people who went through this with great results! I do miss the occasional steaks and burgers when I see tv commercials or people talking about BBQs
:( but this is when a great support comes in to keep you on the right track. Whether they be your friends or message boards such as this - it really guides you to stick with it. The LAP-BAND® is just a tool but its only useful through a combined effort of other outside factors that completes the mission.
Right now, its still painful to get out of bed or watch the fresh stitches when taking a shower, but sometimes I get hungry - especially when cooking dinner for my two boys, lol. The protein shakes do help alleviate the hunger pangs, but I couldnt wait to start eating pureed foods and actual meals - small portions, but actual meals. I can't wait to actually see the results. I'm following the phases to the tee so wish me luck!!
Now for work, what do you guys bring? Do own those personal blenders and special containers? I need advice when it comes to packing lunch for work.
