Always Cold

Ever since being banded, I am always cold. Anyone else having the same odd side effect?

Yes - banded 9 weeks ago though - so the Heparin is well out of my system. I thought it was due to the weight loss possibly.

I was banded on 1/27/10 and have lost 50 lbs and I have the same thing. The first month or so I was freezing all the time! Its not as bad as I was but my body temp is out of whack.I live in NC and its 92 today. Maybe another advantage of the band is that my electric bill will decrease b/c I don't have to keep the AC so low this summer :bored:! Good luck! Loryn

yep i HAVE HAD MY BAND A YEAR AND HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM I thought it might be from losing weight? Anyway I live in AZ so come summer it not much of a problem and I have learned to carry light sweaters.

Im 2 years out and have the same issue before lap band winter and summer I froze the husband and kids to death and now Im cold or comfortable and they are burning up.

I've grown a tail since being banded.

I've had the same problem. I thought i was the only one. I use to sleep with covers and my hubby was freezing. Now I'm the one under all the covers. Weird.

It makes sense if you think about the fact that a calorie is a unit of heat!! We are consuming less units of heat now, so we aren't getting our customary fuel!! Hugs!!!

After my first year, in which I lost probably 60lb, I froze for about 9 months. I was sooooooo cold. DH experienced the same thing.

i was never one of those hot people that sweated all the time, but I never felt the cold like I did once I'd lost significant weight.

It did balance out over time and I no longer feel freezing, but I certainly do feel the cold more than I did at my highest weight.

I also love summer. I can dress in barely anything and not worry about how I look and the heat doesnt bother me at all (and it gets HOT here in Melbourne).
