  1. Eating well and exercise is sooooooo important. A lot of people are in denial about how many calories they consume. Most underestimate their calorie intake. Get a food journal. Start exercising. I will guarantee you that you will lose weight if you burn more calories than you consume.
  2. You really do need to exercise to lose weight. Exercise is great for building muscle and does wonders for your cardiovascular system. You also need to eat heathier. Eating 1200 calories of junk food is completely different than eating 1200 calories of healthy fruits, vegetables, and lean meats. The reason why I got the band is not because I could stop dieting, but to get the motivation I need to proceed with a healthy lifestyle. I didn't lose over a hundred pounds by "just eating less."
  3. I feel so sorry for you.
  4. Actually, it's not crap. It's really good advice. I am working very hard to lose weight. I work my butt off at the gym, and I actually eat right. My workouts are so intense, that I doubt you would last through one. I hardly give my Lap Band credit. It just makes me eat less. That's it. It doesn't help me run 4 miles nor does it help me choose carrot sticks over chocolate cake. My Lap Band gave me the motivation to change my lifestyle. I didn't get it so I could go on some stupid, pointless cabbage diet only to gain to back once I get off of it. I feel sorry for you. When you get off your cabbage diet, and gain your weight back, you'll be wanting advice. I am right, and you know it. Everyone here knows it.
  5. Yuck. Try counting calories. Try exercising. You can't eat cabbage for the rest of your life. .... well you could, but could you really? Try changing your lifestyle. That usually works.
  6. I had an unfill one time. For some reason my insurance only paid part of it. They will pay full for a fill though.
  7. I can't eat ice cream or milk either. It seems to get stuck, and burping up warm ice cream is nasty.
  8. I wish I could use them. My biggest was 48 C. Now I'm like a 38/40 C. I'm hardly a C. I'm 23 years old, and my boobs are sagging! lol Oh well.
  9. I'm sorry, but I really can't read your post. I hope you get better though.
  10. I lost 5 pounds in one month by just not eating fast foods.
  11. You can wear the Bodybugg while sleeping also. In the online program you can set your wake hours and sleep hours. For example, I set mine as being awake at 6:30am and bedtime as 9pm. The Bodybugg isn't waterproof so I do have to take if off during showers. However, the Bodybugg knows when its off the body so when you go to upload it to your computer, you can tell the program what you were doing while it was off the body. It then can give you an estimate as to what you were burning during that time. I love my Bodybugg. It has helped me lose a lot of weight.
  12. I do weight training and cardio. I got a personal trainer to help me learn how to exercise. Best investment ever!
  13. What does this have to do with my post? Nothing...
  14. I was approved quickly with no diet required. It was a very smooth process.
  15. I only lost 1 pound the first month after my surgery. Don't be discouraged because it will start coming off quickly.
  16. It really depends on the state. I live in NC and as of July 2010, they no longer cover this type of surgery. Make sure you check with your state.
  17. That happens to me when I get a cold. I asked at my support group, and others say it happens to them. My band also gets tight when I get my cycle.
  18. Elizabeth, I remember reading something like that, but I forgot! lol So I would probably have a higher chance of getting pregnant while being heavier. lol I'll take a pregnancy test if it doesn't come by Christmas. I'm under a lot of stress so maybe that's why it's late also. Thanks for your reply!
  19. I'm on the NuvaRing, and I was wondering if weight loss can effect the potency (potency? I can't think of a better adjective, lol) of birth control. Like can it make it less effective? I'm a day late on my period, and that's why I'm asking. I'm sure (at least I hope) it will come soon, but it's usually here by now. Any advice would help.
  20. I think you would have to be up front with him if you decide to get intimate. I mean, don't say on the first date "I lost ___ pounds and now I have saggy skin." But when both of you decide to take your relationship to the next level, I do think some type of conversation is warranted. My ex-boyfriend hasn't seen in me in over a year. We recently got back together, and he has seen me naked. I'm not done losing my weight, but I do look a bit saggy. He says he still likes me the way that I am, and I think I do believe him, lol.
  21. Actually, that's incorrect. The box says "Prior to dispensing to the patient, store refrigerated 2 - 4 degrees C (36-46 degrees F). After dispensing to the patient, NuvaRing can be stored up to 4 months at 25 degrees C (77 degrees F); excursions permitted to 15-30 degrees C (59-86 degrees F). Avoid storing NuvaRing in direct sunlight or at temperatures above 30 degrees C (86 degrees F)." I have used the NuvaRing over a year without storing it in the fridge without becoming pregnant.
  22. My mom is on Lovenox because she got a blood clot after knee surgery. She has experienced pain after she injects the medicine into her stomach.
  23. December 21st is an awesome day to be banded. It's also my birthday. Good luck to you!
  24. To be honest, the most negative remarks that I receive are from those who are already overweight. I get a lot of praise and good feedback from those who are skinny or who do not have a weight problem. However, for some reason many of those who I have encountered that had something negative to say where from overweight individuals. I've been told that I'm losing weight too fast. That I have saggy skin. That "they don't need surgery to lose weight." It just goes on and on. Yet, it's almost funny. I laugh at these people. It's like they want to justify their fatness or something. They want to explain to me why they are fat and not losing weight. However, I don't care. I don't even start these conversations. Somehow these people need to justify something and bring these conversations up. The best thing to do is ignore them. You're doing this for yourself and no one else. Each time someone asks you "how much have you lost" tell them and make a big deal about it. That's what I do. You're going to be looking hot, rockin' out in a mini skirt and stilettos while they sit on their asses complaining. THIS IS A GOOD THING!
