Watery Grits

It's not on my list for the post op liquid phase but is it ok to have watery grits 5 days post op? Nothing sounds appetizing to me right now and I can only tolerate 4 oz of shake every 3-4 hours. I had my husband fix me some watery grits and he seems to think that I should not have it at this stage.

It's on my doctor's list as a part of the liquid diet. I had it a few days after my surgery, and it was just fine, as was watery oatmeal, which is also on my list.

For the grits, I use a packet of instant grits, a tablespoon of butter, and 3/4 cup of Water. It tastes so good! I find the oatmeal more filling, but I'm craving salty right now and can't stand broth.

Of course, grits disgust my Yankee husband. :o
