O wish I could eat sushi again but I'm afraid to try. lol

Do you think I need another fill?
I've had two fills so far the first one was 2 CC and the second was .5cc. I had 3 cc placed in my band during surgery so I have a total of 5.5cc. It seems like it's not that much and I would like to have another .5 cc fill on Monday. The concern is that I get stuck quite often and I have to throw up a few times a week. Not after every meal. I think it's because I eat the wrong foods or I eat too fast and don't chew enough. I don't want to get another fill if I don't need it but I don't really think I have restriction yet? Any advice?

When can you eat regular food after fill?
I know there are so many different versions. My doc says 2 days liquids and 2 days mushies. My fill was so slight I don't even notice it. I'm wondering if I have some swelling from it.

When can you eat regular food after fill?
I had a 0.5 cc fill yesterday (Thurs) and I have a dinner party to go to on Saturday. I was wondering if I should bring some soup and just eat that or would it be ok to eat regular food.

stuck on...
One of the tips I received was to drink a little bit of olive oil. Not sure if that will work on raw carrots. I believe I would just stay away from them.

What does restriction feel like?
I had my first fill last week. I had 3 ccs during surgery and she added 2 more ccs in an 11 cc band. Before my fill I could eat anything and I was hungry after a couple of hours. I did experience getting stuck with rice and some dry meat before. Since Thursday I have lost 4 lbs in 4 days. Today I could eat normal foods but all I had was protein shakes a small salad at lunch and I am not hungry. It could be that I have sinus problems and I don't feel that great. I never thought I would get restriction after my first fill. I always heard it takes 3-4 fills to get to your sweet spot. I ate a little bit of rice and chicken and I felt like I was about to get stuck. So I'm not sure if I have restriction or was is just the rice that I couldn't tolerate.

how long did it take you to notice a big difference?
After 20 lbs I noticed a difference. People could tell I was losing especially since my face was getting smaller. I went from a size 18 to a 16. Some 16s are lose and I'm not ready for 14s yet. I think when I get to 200 lbs I will fit into my size 14 jeans. I stalled up until I got my first fill which was last Thursday and being on liquids and mushies has jumpt started me again. For about 4 weeks I did not lose any weight at all.

anyone's Dr NOT sew your incision shut?
One of mine popped open about 5 days post op. It got infected and I had to take 2 rounds of antibiotics. (14 days) Finally started healing after swabing it with silver nitrate. It's fine now.

My first Stuck episode 1 month post op
Yes, it feels like a stabbing pain in your chest. Drinking water only makes it feel worse. Everytime you swallow it hurts. I heard that a good thing to do is to lean up against a chair and put your head down.
-
what do you eat everyday?
Refried bean, mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, yogurt. I also make a pot of split pea soup and put small portions in the freezer. It was wonderful to eat something homemade.

What is happiness?
I'm one month post op and will have my first fill in 2 weeks. I guess I should not have too much expectation. I had my first stuck episode last night because I ate too fast and did not chew. I did not think it was possible because I haven't had a fill yet. But boy did it hurt. Drinking water did not push it down, it only made it hurt worse. I had to go to the bathroom and throw up. I hope I learned my lesson. Don't want to go through that again.

My first Stuck episode 1 month post op
I was eating some meat last night and I did not chew it enough and ate too fast. I had my first stuck episode. I did not think it was possible since I haven't had my first fill yet. But boy did it hurt. Water did not push it down, it only hurt more. Then I finally threw it up. I learned my lesson the hard way. I'm getting my first fill in 2 weeks. From what I have read here it may take 3 or 4 to get restriction. In the meantime it's all about will power. I've lost 20 lbs since my pre op diet and surgery but I haven't lost anymore weight in the last 2-3 weeks. I heard that is normal also. I can't wait to get restriction.

Can you recommend a good protein shake powder please?
I like Muscle Milk lite and the Premier from Costso. The premier is premixed and so convenient to take to work etc.

on day 6 of 10 day preop diet
Congratulations on starting the journey. After my surgery I stayed on the liquid diet for 2 more weeks. Then it's on to mushies for 2 weeks and finally regular food after 4 weeks. I know exactly how you feel. The post op was harder for me than the pre op. Make sure you get your protein shakes to help keep you full. But this time will pass before you know it. Hang in there. Congrats on the 10 pounds and good luck on your surgery.

I start on Mushies today.
I'm 2 weeks post of and I start on mushies today. I don't see the doctor until tomorrow but I have a couple of questions about how much and how often to eat. Should I have 3 meals of about 1 cup each and a snack? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Crushing pills question
PB is productive burp. I'm only 10 days post op and I haven't experienced it yet. I'm sure I will soon enough.

How soon did you start on Mushies?
I'm 7 days post op and I am sooooo tired of shakes and soup. I'm starting on mushies after 2 week post op. I know every doctor is different. How soon were you able to start on mushies? This last week is going to be so hard. This is my 4th week on liquids including my pre-op diet. ugggh!

March 24th is the day!
Hi Everyone, Can you believe a week ago today we were having surgery? The week has really flown by fast. One more week on the liquid diet then it on to pureed foods. I can't wait. I have lost 17 lbs since the pre op diet. I'm feeling fatigued but don't have much discomfort. I've been walking at lunch everyday this week. I can't wait to get my energy back. Hope everyone is doing well. Keep up the good work. We can do this y'all.

Obsession
I'm right there with you. I can't wait for my first Mushie meal which will be a week from Thursday. I'm so hungry it makes me ill. I'd like to have meatloaf and mashed potatoes. I wonder what the meatloaf will taste like put through the blender.

3 incision technique
I've heard of the 5 incision and the single incision through the belly button. When I woke up from surgery I noticed I had 3 incisions. One on my belly button and one on the left and right side of my belly. I haven't had a chance to talk to the surgeon but has anyone had this technique?

March 24th is the day!
Don't feel alone. Last night I was in a lot of pain around the port site. I cried and walked around the house for 20 minutes. I was really feeling sorry for myself. Today I'm feeling better. The gas pains have eased up some. I tried to be off the pain med and switched to Tylenol but it doesn't quite cut it. It's ok to feel blue, sometimes the anesthesia affects people that way. Just post on here and I'm sure someone can always relate to whatever stage you are in. Hope you feel better soon. This is a good thing and this too shall pass.

Watery Grits
It's not on my list for the post op liquid phase but is it ok to have watery grits 5 days post op? Nothing sounds appetizing to me right now and I can only tolerate 4 oz of shake every 3-4 hours. I had my husband fix me some watery grits and he seems to think that I should not have it at this stage.
