Newbie!

I'm a 39yo single mother to a 5yo...Tadpole. I want to get healthy to see my sweet Tadpole blossom!

I've been lurking on this site for about a year. Found it while researching LB surgery. Turns out, I had insurance that would, under no circumstances pay for the surgery. I have since changed insurances and the new one will pay if it is deemed medically necessary. I'm thinking that more than 10yrs with a 40+ BMI makes me a great candidate!

I finished my last appointment yesterday...now my paperwork is being submitted to the insurance company! Here's hoping!!!

I did have a thought and wonder if anyone here has thought or tried the same thing...On the chance that the insurance company will come back and say I need a 60, 90 or whatever number of days medically supervised diet program first...what is to stop me from starting one now? I mean, if they are going to take 6 to 12 weeks to decide...I could that far into a medically supervised program already.

Thanks for the advice!

Thats kinda what I did. You can call your insurance company and ask what the qualifications are. It helped to get things going for sure. I am almost done with the 6 month diet.
