Megan S Jenkins, M.D.

Dr. Megan Jenkins is a bariatric and weight loss surgeon located in New York NY and affiliated with Lutheran Hospital. Dr. Jenkins has 20 years of experience performing Lap-Band and other weight loss surgery. Currently 5 of our members have Dr. Jenkins listed as their Lap Band Surgeon.

Since childhood, I’ve dreamt of becoming a doctor; specifically a surgeon which I believed would combine my passion for helping people, conscientiousness and creative thinking while challenging my courage and intelligence. That dream was fulfilled when I attended medical school and residency at NYU School of Medicine. And as a lifelong athlete, I’ve always enjoyed being part of a team; specifically being part of a support system and sharing accomplishments with colleagues. As a surgeon on the Bariatric Team at NYU Langone, I am fortunate to be both a doctor and part of a team that helps patients on their journey to weight loss and better health.  

The Bariatric Team is made up of multi-disciplinary providers who work together and each are an integral part of a patient’s success. As the surgeon, I feel privileged to be part of the beginning of their weight loss journey using the most advanced minimally invasive or robotic techniques available at NYU Langone. It’s also rewarding to be part of a patient’s postoperative care when they no longer need medication for obesity related medical conditions and are living better quality lives. It’s a win for the whole team!

I have a passion for health, nutrition, and exercise, and enjoy sharing that as I support my patients in every step of their weight loss journey.
