About M. Salvador Valencia
Dr. Valencia is the first bariatric surgeon in Mexico to offer American patients a world class, affordable surgery with the peace of mind of a comprehensive post operative follow up program right in the comfort of their own home (up to one year). After practicing surgery at UCLA, Dr. Valencia understands Americans are naturally concerned about the quality of surgery and about the care and attention they will receive if they decide to have surgery in other country, and who will follow them up after they return home to the U.S. to recover. He has recently developed a 5-step program to successful bariatric surgery. His U.S. partner, iBariHealth provides in-home support with their team of nurses, dieticians and exercise specialists to supervise patient’s recovery and help provide nutritional and fitness guidance in their new life. Dr. Valencia is Board-Certified and belongs to the main surgical societies in Mexico and Latin America. He is also an active member of the Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and is Fellow of the American College of Surgeons as well. He has written many scientific papers and co-authored several book chapters in the U.S. and Canada. As a Faculty/Fellow on the UCLA Bariatric Surgical Team he acquired vast experience with laparoscopic gastric bypass and revision/conversion surgeries. Dr. Valencia has lectured, taught, proctored and performed Minimally Invasive and Bariatric surgery in different cities of Mexico and several other countries like Peru and Cuba. He is one of the pioneers in the field of robotic surgery in Mexico. His special interests include the fusion of robotic technologies into minimally invasive surgery. In addition to having had the privilege to train surgeons from Latin America in Advanced Laparoscopy, Dr. Valencia
