    New here 😁

Hi and welcome aboard 👋🏻. Take your measurements. Often when the scales not moving you will see you’re losing inches . That’s not going to give you immediate relief since you’ll obviously have to wait til the next measurement drop but everything we can do to assure ourselves that it’s working. And congratulation on already being down 22 lbs!! That’s awesome!!! Start looking for other NSV’s (non scale victories). Your necklines are hanging lower, the seatbelt in the car isn’t feeling so tight or hitting you in a different place, you can bend down easier , you can walk longer or with less pain. No matter how small start recognizing them for what they are, HUGE progress to a healthier you! Good luck on your journey 👍🏻
  2. What exactly is NSV?

My first NSV! Share yours as they happen!

This is a different kind of NSV -- I got out one of my pretty spring/summer dresses to wear to church this a.m. because I know I won't be able to wear this size again soon. I have been avoiding wearing dresses because I just didn't feel pretty due to my weight so I splurged yesterday and got a manicure and pedicure, got my nails done in a pretty hot pink and I'm stepping out in style this morning holding my head high. Hope everyone has a great Sunday!
  4. I guess that would be a good way to discourage DH from using all the gas in my vehicle!! That is a funny NSV, my port area is still sorta numb....now is that crazy?? Annie, can u really feel the tube??
  5. Not my first NSV, but I am excited about it. We went to an amusement park and I fit on all the rides!! WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  6. Life has gotten in the way the last 2 months. I was unable to take care of me the way I was supposed. Not exercising, not enough Protein all sorts of things. I gained 8lbs. Now 3 weeks ago I was sitting here crying feeling like a failure. I'm back on track in the last 3 weeks. walking 3 miles a day, getting my protein and Water. I have lost those 8lbs. I haven't had a fill in two months.I go for one tomorrow. There will be no great loss, but no gain and I realized I'm good with that. I can't beat myself up for no being able to take care of myself (I was the primary care giver for my MIL the last 3 months and she passed a month ago). I've lost 60lbs since surgery in November. One hundred total since last May. When I think of it that way I'm pretty proud of how far I have come in the last year. So now onto the NSV. I can ride my bike without the seat hurting my rearend. Pretty happy about that. I haven't been able to do that in about 3 years. So all in all a good week for me. Thanks for listening.
  7. what a fab NSV... funnily enough, my hubby mentioned this to me the other day... I too didn't realise I was doing it! Ain't it great! =]

Life is pretty good near goal

Talk about a nice NSV. Awesome.
  9. I am so happy to know that it is possible to meet Protein intake without shakes or drinks. I hit 63gr today normally I will drink 2 shakes a day for the 60gr and any protein from food was a bonus. Sorry just had to share with others that would understand, my boyfriend just looked at me with a blank face like I was a nut when I got excited over this. The last time I got this excited was when I realized I had a collar bone ( My first NSV) Happy New Year everyone!!! ( I know I am a little early)

    2 Year Band Anniversary!

Congratulations!! I often think the improvements to our quality of life far outweigh the victories over the numbers on the scale. You have had some pretty huge NSV with your health it sounds like Thank you for sharing and the inspiration!
  16. Congratulations and best wishes on your journey. The journey may not be easy and there may be times that you want to give up then remember this feeling of going under 300. Do not forget to celebrate every NSV no matter how small it is my personal favorite is walking down the aisle of an airplane without turning sideways and getting to my seat and not having to ask for an extender.

    The little things

YAY!!!! Those NSV's are priceless! Congratulations to you and your health--
  18. I am trying to find all the NSV I can find. I did a little blog about the ones I have seen so far. And I looked back over my blogs and I realized I blogged about the day we went to the Third Day Concert (almost a year ago) and the shirt I wanted to wear didn't fit. Fast forward to today and I am wearing that shirt..the one that didn't fit!!! Hopefully the picture will attach. The pic on the left was last year and it's a picture of the Concert picture...but you get the idea. The one on the right is today. Not a before and after, but definitely a before and during!! I still have a ways to go but I can definitely see the progress!!

    Life is GREAAAT!

So I'm totally pumped, the sun is shining, it's 86 degrees here today and just absolutely beautiful (too bad I'm at work;)). While I was getting ready this morning it almost felt like a special day you know a day that you've been waiting for, anticipating for some time because something good is planned or special is going on, so I was thinking humm what is so special about today? It's not my Birthday, it's not Mother's Day, there's no work parties, it's not the weekend........ IT'S LIFE AND LIFE IS GREAAAT!! I hope it's ok but I want to share some NSV's with everyone that really didn't occur to me until this morning. I got in the car today and for the first time realized how much room there was between me and the steering wheel. Yep before I had this surgery when I was driving the steering wheel would actually rub against my stomach when I turned now there's a good 18-24 inches between my stomach and the steering wheel. I spent hours, and I mean hours doing hard manual yard work on Saturday and Sunday, fully expecting to be completely imobile come Monday, with much to my suprise I woke up and nothing, no pain, no stifness, no feeling like I'd been runover by an 18-wheeler. It felt awesome, my yard doesn't look half bad either:-)!!!! Summer. Yes, I said it summer, swimsuits, pools, lakes, tubing you name it anything to do with Water activities I'm in and I can't wait. Even when I was large I still participated, not gracefully or unembarrased but I still did them. This year I'm so excited because there is NO hestitaton NO feeling self concious; looking around before I do something to make sure no one is watching in case I make a fool out of myself ( I will still make a fool of myself because I'll never be graceful:)) but now I won't give two SH****!!! I've already purchased 2 swimsuits and I'm all ready to gooooo!! I was telling my husband I can't remember the last time I was a normal weight during the summer time. It's such a stress lifted and I feel like now I can finally FULLY enjoy every ounce of summer fun, my favorite time of the year and I just can't wait! Everyday I wake up and I'm just so thankful for the decision I made to have this band! Life has always been good, I've been blessed with many things in my life, a wonderful husband and two beautiful children, first and foremost but now I just have this whole new perception of life. I wake up and everyday is almost like a new adventure. I 'm still finding things out about myself and my surroundings that I never noticed before, so exciting! So yes, this is all for my sunshine and roses speech for today but I would like for everyone who reads this to post something(s) that maybe you just noticed about yourself that has changed or you're looking forward to now that you have a new leash on life:-) I can't wait to hear everyone's!!!!!

    Happy moment

@@Griggs2alr - the small goals are the BIGGEST ones sometimes. Keep trying on clothes you haven't worn for NSVs. Don't forget to measure yourself NOW for the stalls that will mess with your head. Inches "lost" are SO much fun to lose
