I’m a sleever and I couldn’t handle Protein Shakes. The whey taste was too much. I have a nespresso machine and got my Protein in from day 1 with 1% milk lattes fortified with 10% or more skim milk powder or milkshakes with sugar free mix made the same. Do Decaf if it’s before bed, and down to one smaller latte now as get to target with food most days. Never had a prob with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Food Before and After Photos
Cheeseburgh replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Half a sandwich for lunch. The ancient grain bread from Trader Joe’s is great: 70 calories, 10 net carbs and 3 grams of protein. I ate it all. Very filling 176 calories. -

Today, I’m starting my vitamins, I chewed up the multivitamin and in 10 mins. I throw it back up, I could feel my stomach rejecting the vitamin and I knew it was going to come back up. It might be worth mentioning I took it on an empty stomach, was that the stupidest thing ever or is my body rejecting these vitamins?

IN!!! A week away from 3 months PO May goals: 1. Drop down into the 180’s. April 30th weight: 199.8 (barely squeaked my goal for April of hitting ONEderland) Should be doable since it’s “only” 10 pounds. I’ve been a slow but steady loser so far so fingers crossed I don’t hit any stalls this month. 2. Try out a Pilates 1.5 class. So far I’ve gone from struggling like the dickens to keep up to almost being able to do everything in the level 1 classes and I’m going to work up the courage to try out a 1.5. It’s all about getting out of your comfort zone and if we don’t do that, we don’t grow. 3. Self care. Some weeks I’m good at this, some weeks..... meh. Later today I’m going to pencil in meditation time and write in a bedtime and set my alarm every day for sleep. Going to do this for the entire month. I’m also going to schedule a cut and color and pedicure for later this month.

I plan on trying some wine when I am 10 weeks out as we have a "girls trip" planned to Vegas. Can't go to Vegas and not indulge just a little bit.

I'm in. Almost 10 months post-op. Plan on trying the Push-up challenge. Starting the month out at 184.

Stricture- How do you deal with the awful feeling you're going to throw up?
Frustr8 replied to Briswife15's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
And it might sound unbelievable but post - Endoscopy I never slimed or had foamies. Until you brought it up, I hadn't reflected on it that much. They told me each time for a week make sure you're using your C-Pap, well I usually use Uncle Snuffly anyway so no problem there. Yeah I was able to reschedule for Wednesday at noon. Only time they really had until July. Guess they might be centering on a new crop of Bariatric Seekers. Well it's 8 months for me, wonder if I still get an 10 month appointment or whether I wait until 1 year? I don't think I am following. their usual game plan!👈👸👉 -
I had my sleeve surgery on April 26, 2019. Today is the 30th. Everything has been great since surgery except for one thing!! Periodically I have spasms/cramps in my stomach. It's not my incisions but inside. They only happen for a few seconds and then they go away. Sometimes they come back every few minutes. And other times it will be a few hours. Why do I feel these pains? They are getting really annoying!! Any advice would be awesome!

April 2019 Surgeries!
TheFlinstones replied to CajunSam's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sending love to all the April 2019 lovely people. I hope all are doing well in recovery, liquid & purée stages and onwards. Thought I’d share a few non weight loss positives. 1. I can sleep more on my sides almost on my stomach (I am actually a side sleeper but have noticed how different being able to roll further round with diminishing tummy) 2. I went to the gym and rode the bike for 32mins this morning. And my legs as in thighs and calves didn’t feel like they were squishing whilst peddling revolutions. 3. Managed to keep food down that is puréed! Thank you to everyone in this thread, I’m grateful to have people on the same journey. Xoxoxox -
I did the online seminar and then called to schedule my appointment with Dr. Boone, who along with his partner Dr. Higa, came highly recommended. That initial consultation took about a month and a half wait because they are in high demand. At the consult you meet with your Dr. then you will go with your health care coordinator to schedule your weight management classes and you will be given a list of tests that you will be required to complete, but they will schedule for you. They will also give you a brochure for BariatricPsychEvaluations.com. You can call them and get your psych evaluation done right away. You will do an online questionnaire and then a quick phone interview a day or two afterward so you can scratch that off your list. My required tests were- Psych eval, labs, EGD and a manometry. I started the process Sept. 12, 2018 and they submitted my papers to insurance on March 25, 2019, then called me on March 29th to tell me insurance approved and to see if I wanted to schedule my surgery on April 4th. I chose the sleeve and it was a very easy surgery with very little pain because they are so good at what they do. The six months goes by quicker than you think it will. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask 😊

Dr Higa is awasome... only thing is he is busy with surgeries sometimes at least that is what they said.. My seminar was in Feb 2018 and my first appointment was in April 19 2018.. It took me a little over a year to do all the requirements but because I had to see other specialist for my sleep apnea.. and I finished my last prerequisite on April 3rd they submitted to my insurance on the 24th of April and I got approved last monday... I choose the operation date of 8-2-19.. but the had am open appointment may 2nd that they could of done my sleeve Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J727AZ using BariatricPal mobile app

My goal for May. Lose 5 pounds which would put me at 144. I am simply a slow loser so I have to set realistic goals. Workout at the gym a minimum of 3 days a week however workout 5-6 days a week. Keep my calories under 800. I don’t eat anything on that list specifically but I do have sugar free pudding, crackers and low carb tortillas on occasion. I’ll decide later if I’m going to cut those out for 10 days. I have my 9 month follow up later this month and my recent bloodwork all came back great.

Stricture- How do you deal with the awful feeling you're going to throw up?
Steven1954 replied to Briswife15's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had bouts of salivating for 10-20 minutes and dry heaving for another 20 minutes two to three hours after dinner for almost a year before they figured out what was wrong A five hour surgery later fixed the problem thank goodness for columbia Presbyterian in NYC Hang in there best of luck -

I'm going to sign up again, and hopefully I will do better in May than I did in April. *sigh* I'm currently pre-op, although my surgery is on May 16th. I know I won't be doing much in the way of activity (certainly not push ups) in the last couple of weeks of the month, but my goals for May are: lose another 5 lb before surgery (currently 245.6) by being very strict with my pre-op diet hit 12000 steps every day before surgery, and to walk at least 10 minutes 3x per day after surgery (more hopefully) finish prep for my family for post-op (finish spring cleaning and making freezer meals for them for the first 2 weeks) keep a positive outlook during and after surgery, and to be kind to myself.

Ugh. So sorry LastMinuteLouise left you without a ride to your appointment. At least you can go tomorrow and don't have to wait too long. My surgeon says we'll try a second dilation in 7-10 days. It was a long day! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
