Morning ladies!! About the jeans, I do not shop for clothes in person, so someone else might have better suggestions in that department. Lane Bryant, Wal-Mart, etc.. all plus size pants fit bad on me, I don't have hips, so they poof out, and I'm tall, so I need longer inseams. I get 100% of my pants from alloy.com You can specify the inseam you want, so that's my bonus. As for the hips, they don't have any 'built in' shapes to the hip area, so they fit me perfectly. They are all low-medium cut, fitted on the thighs, then flare out either a little (boot cut) or a lot (flare). They started selling 'skinny jeans' BLECH I can't believe someone wants those to make a come back. They have got to be the most unflattering pants in the world. Even on anorexic skinny people, it makes them look fat. Anyway.. I can point out jeans in Alloy that would look great on your figure, but it looks like God blessed you with the curvy hips (waaaaaaah) so you could wear the hippy plus size pants I always see at stores. The jeans in the picture you posted look like men's jeans.. does nothing to show off your figure and even poofs out (I'm betting they're too big because of the weight you lost!!). Running late again today at work, mouth is dry and icky. Forgot my yogurt, so I'm having a fruit leather for b'fast. -
Boy it took me 1/2 hour to catch up. Yes, you are not supposed to do anything other than walking until you are 6 wks post op.- definitely no weights. I have never weighed my food - I was told to measure my food and to only have 1/4 -1/3 cup per meal. I typically have 1/2 cup per meal as even at 7 cc 1/3 cup doesn't fill me up most of the time. Our pouch will only hold a certain amount of food by volume not weight. I was in a Project Management training class all day today and will be for the next two days too. It is pretty interesting and the instructor is great. I am taking my lunch with me tomorrow as they have a refrigerator and microwave. I had Costco frozen yogurt for lunch today. I went to the gym in this awful weather - was there from 7-8 pm - did 1/2 hour on the elliptical and did half an hour of weights and my stomach crunches. I had to talk myself into going as I was drowsy, but I felt better afterwards. Great to see you on again Christine - can't wait to see little Dex arrive. Candra - did you go in to Kaiser? Hope you are feeling better soon. Maria - were you able to get Tina's appointment? John and Lee - glad to see you are both hanging in there. Heather - you amaze me with the time you spend at the gym. Riley - glad to see you back on here - I missed you. Tina - thinking good thoughts for you. Tamra - hang in there - I know it is really hard to make the right choices - I have been where you are before - don't beat yourself up about it, but please be strong - you can do it. Hi to everyone else I missed. I'll check in again tomorrow night.

Ok, Ok, OK!!! I think you all rallied me out of the funk I was in. I rode the bike for 10 mintues and did the glider for 10 minutes and will do my toning exercises in the hot tub tonight so that will make my 30 minutes for the day. I am on my 10th glass of crystal light and I did not eat any sugar today. Actually didn't eat anything I shouldn't have. When I got hungry I nibbled on a piece of cheese and had a yogurt. I have a new resolve and I think I'm back on track. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU all. You're super Violet Vigilanties when the going gets tough. We got our new little fireplace today and it looks perfect in the living room. Now we can bask in the glow of the sterno fire from the fake logs.... nothing but the best for this family!! I'm going to watch some more of the Iowa results and then hit the hot tub. Everyone have a great evening and THANK YOU again from the bottom of my heart. You're the best!! -

Thanks Christine I have loved all your recipes so far........I have tried the cauliflower when I was doing weight watchers and liked it. But you add quite a few things in.....I am gonna try it!! My goal this week is to stay away from carbs and start back on the proteins big time.......... I got this new greek yogurt at safeway that has 15 grams of protien and it is low fat if you get the vanilla flavor. Reggie I am drinking about 60+ ounces of water with no problems. The first few days after surgery I didn't get enough liquids..........but not because I couldn't drink it ....because I was sleeping so much I just could'nt sip as much as they wanted me too...........since than I am getting enough liquids. I was also drinking 100+ before surgery and that I am not back to yet. I get side cramps if I drink to much or to fast.............warning to stop. Same with eathing I get a side cramp when I eat even is just a little.............still healing I am sure. So excited for everyone getting banded this month!! It is totally survivable and that 10 pound weight drop in the fist week was a bonus!!!

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Lizalee replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hope you like it. I actually found it was tasteless, so I add losts of Splenda, which makes it palatable for my tastes. It's a fairly dense cereal (lots of fiber). But it does fill me up, which was the point for me! :-) Right now I'm eating All-bran yogurt bites...because DD didn't like it. It too works well, but I think it has more actual sugar (I don't need to add much Splenda.) BTW - Splenda seems to be the most wonderful thing invented except the Band in my book. I love it. Now, I've read that it might not work as well to curb cravings, because the brain expects a sugar load because it's so sweet, then doesn't get it, and craves more...but that was just one study I think. I sure do like the sugar-free fudgsicles, and sugar free foods I wouldn't have touched before because of the artificial sweetener aftertaste, I know can't tell the difference, who it's a good thing in my book. -

Thanks for the welcome! I love this thread. Too many bites for me to write down what I ate for the last two days...but know that I ate way less than what I would usually eat. Today: B - Pure Protein shake L - 2 small bites of toasted bagel & 1/4 cup tortilla Soup S - 2/3 nonfat yogurt approx. 100 calories D - Went to souplantion (also known as Fresh Choice) Couple bites of potato salad, beets, chicken broth, 3 bites of cream of chicken soup, 2 bites of frozen yogurt, some croutons w/ff ranch. Pretty good for a buffet! -
Try plain ff Greek yogurt mixed with extract and Splenda, Lime juice and Splenda, (like key lime pie) Fresh strawberries are AWESOME in it, Unsweetened cocoa powder and Splenda (tastes like chocolate mousse!) Haven't tried, but I hear that sugar free jams are good, Torani sugar free syrups, Crystal Light powder, You would just have to play around with amounts to suit your taste. I also use the ff plain Greek yogurt as sour cream, add chives, s & p, and a drop of lemon juice to top a potato. Mix with salsa for a dip Add ranch dressing powder for a dip for veggies or thin it out with water for salad dressing. I even made a creamy honey mustard last night, ff plain Greek yogurt, yellow mustard, lemon juice, pinch of dry mustard, s & p and Splenda. Let me know how you like these recipes. BTW, I didn't like Fage, Oikos, etc...either, I actually like the Shoprite brand best, and Yoplait, love the key lime, but I don't eat it too often because of the carbs.

I can definatly eat too much, yesterday i had two weetabix for breakfast, picked at grapes till lunch, had two slices of brown bread with tuna, bowl of soupfulls and a hazel nut yogurt. by the time i got home from work i was starving and i made chicken chow mein(all fresh except sauce) sounds ok to maintain weight but i want to loose! booked in to see lou again next sat. i bought cadbury high lights for my evening cravings.
-
I did this yesterday. I also took 1/2 of a strawberry protein shake and added greek yogurt and blended for a smoothie and that came all right. It brought the sweetness of the shake down and the mellowed the tartness of the yogurt. I split it into two 'meals'.

A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
waterlily1072 replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow welcome to all the joiners of this thread For the record I have 200 lbs to lose total and I know I can achieve that goal! A friend had bypass a litte more than a year ago and is now already fighting to keep from gaining her back. She lost 200 lbs in a little less than a year and will spend the rest of her life with an alterred body that may or may not be able to absorb necessary nutrients. It will take me a couple 2-3 years to reach my goal and that is ok. The band isn't for everyone and for some the bypass is a good choice, only you can ultimately decide that. I say try the safer first if it doesn't work well for you, you can always switch to some other wls method later. Dezadoo youa re in week 2 it looks like. Mushies at week 2, while I am not your doctor, I truly believe you are safe to move on to mushies, just always excersise caution, go slow and start with stuff like yogurt and move up to stuff like scrambled eggs and refried beans. As for hunger, you will be hungry till you get restriction Grats on being banded
