This seems odd to me. Even with loose skin in those areas your labia should be protecting your urethra from excess bacteria accumulating. It might be time to see a urologist if you haven't already.

Well the only correlation I can see is the skin tone has relaxed so it's all floppy and blobby and maybe your bladder muscles have also lost tone. As the King in the "King and I" said " Is A Puzzlement".

I have a somewhat TMI question. I can’t find anything on Google about it so I figured I’d ask if anyone else has had this problem. I’ve had bladder and urinary tract pain for the last six months and I’m wondering if it’s related to the RNY or the loose skin I have from weight loss. I am a year and a half out from surgery so it’s not related to the catheter. I’m thinking it’s a loose skin issue. The majority of my loose skin is in my stomach, lower pelvis area, and upper inner thighs. Has anyone else had this problem?

Does anybody know why the stall and how do you get out of it. The first two months I lost 34 pounds and now for two weeks have lost nothing. They did move me to a full diet introducing 1 food at a time, but I have not been interested in trying anything yet, so I am not doing anything different just can't loose any more. This is so frustrating!!!

Gaby: I had the same transfer problem when I was off for the 6weeks after surgery. Couldn’t eat so I was gambling heavily on sports. When I went back to work and was busier I slowly did it less and less. Not sure if there is something else to occupy your mind but I get your feeling of wanting to spend ! In response to the average weight loss question, my weight on Jan 1 was 363, operation weight on feb 12 was 347 and current weight 287. So I guess overall weight loss at 3months is 60lbs and since my heaviest 73lbs. I am a little younger than most (I think) 36yrs old and work in a very active field (construction). Although I am pretty loose with guidelines -
February 2019 weight loss buds

Hi everyoneI I don't think I've posted in here before. I'm more of a lurker. I had surgery on Feb 6, 2019. I'm 5' 6". My HW was 323, SW was 305, and I'm currently bobbing between 268-273. I've been stalled at the bobbing point since April 9th. My question is, I see a lot of you have lost 70+ lbs. Does this seem to be the average for most all of us who had surgery in Feb? I know starting weight is a factor, as well as age and many other things. I'm being honest with my self here, I don't work out like I need to be (Low energy). i'm loosing inches though. I'm down 27 inches from my surgery. Which is what's keeping me somewhat sane. Also my hair started falling out two weeks ago 😕 I knew it was possible, so I wasn't too shocked about it. Point of all this is; How and where is everyone in their journey? -
I just want to cry in gratitude for how much my life has changed in 3 months. I feel so much more alive with energy to do whatever I want. I feel so blessed and fortunate to have been able to have this surgery. It has changed my life. My ultimate goal now is to hike the entire Arizona trail - 830 miles from Mexico to Utah. I could barely walk up a flight of stairs 3 months ago. I sure have a lot of saggy baggy skin and a wrinkly face now, as the collagen isn't what it used to be. But the flaws are beautiful now to me. Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather a skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "Wow! What a ride!" Hunter S. Thompson

You must be feeling so good in those loose-fitting clothes! Your transformation is very obvious. Thanks for posting photos! -
MouseCat sounds like your procedures are about same. I did bum and tummy together with breasts. My PS will not do legs with bum and tummy as the skin pulls in opposite directions. I had a consult with a PS that would do legs bum and tummy in one an breasts and arms as another and the.work was great

I had VSG on Feb 6th and have lost 37 lbs, which is slow compared to a lot of others on this forum but as long as the scale is going in the right direction, then I'm ok with it Plus it gives my skin a chance to catch up with me (or so I hope!) I have lots of days the scale doesn't move, and then suddenly it'll drop a pound. While I weigh myself daily I try not to tally the amount lost until the end of the week, which I think has helped with not driving myself crazy -
Weirdest things you are looking forward to after surgery

Not being the biggest person in the room. Sitting in a chair without the arms pressing into my sides. Sitting on an airplane without a seat extension -getting of of high blood pressure mess -getting rid of this miserable CPAP -even being able to consider walking/running a 5K. -having a toned body instead of one that feels like jello. -being able to shop in stores other than Catherines and Lane Bryant -not having to ask salesladies in the plus size Dept “what’s the largest size you go up to?” -being able to walk up a flight of stairs without the person on the phone asking me “Why are you breathing so hard all of a sudden?” -being full after eating a small portion instead of having three plates For dinner. -the biggest one is feeling comfortable in my skin. I know it sounds strange but sometimes I just can’t get comfortable, as if my skin is the wrong size or doesn’t fit correctly. - FREEDOM FRIM FEELING MISERABLE EVERY DAY! -
Thanks Sheribear68 for your post; you have perfect timing for me. I believe when they get a moment to think about it, I suspect I will have a duplicate diagnosis. Woke up this Tuesday feeling nauseous, thought maybe I was too long since last meal so ate small or at least tried to eat small amount of no sugar added cereal and skim milk. Of course it didn't have good results, called my Bariatric Clinic at Ohio State, it's on a file-card thingie they gave me way back when , they wanted to know if you were having nausea/emesis all day. So I called, was reminded this in Well-Patient Clinic day but they would have a nurse return my call. When she did, she refused my list of symptoms, and told me I should speak to a console for bariatric social worker, hey if I show any signs similar to depression , it's because I am physicall I'll not maladjusted. I was dry-heaving when she called me, not putting on an act. Well well, I guess in the morning I should call my PCP, ask if I need a referall to see our new gastroenterologist or whether I can direct-call him. Obviously that durn nurse thinks I have gone wacky-woo or something. And I am inching closer and closer to 200, only 14 pounds from there last Friday, she actually told me Pounds don't Matter, Whaaat? Then why did I have surgery but to decrease my excess poundage? My abdominal skin wasn't enough of a wreck that I needed 6 addiitional scars showing?, nobody looks in my navel but I have one there too. Now there, like the tops of my thighs , look like wrinkled silk. That's what fabric they resemble, I rather expected hanging panni, but this wrinkled? Nope that was a surprise.

Weirdest things you are looking forward to after surgery

For my stomach to shrink enough that I feel comfortable trail running in just a sports bra and shorts. Fresh air on bare skin while running is heavenly. -
I have 4 of my incisions right across my belly button line. I’m a week out and no way in heck would I want anything like that around my waist. I do wear a binder everyday an it has helped SOOOO much! I got mine at Lane Bryant. It never gets loose and stays put. Keeps everything nice and tight. And it’s smooth under my clothes. I had it for dressing up before. Now it’s everyday wear. I need to get another one.

My insurance said they only cover a panniculectomy and it doesn’t tighten the tummy muscles only remove excess skin and since it’s the only one not considered cosmetic it’s the only tummy one most insurance company cover , if you don’t mind saying, what company do you use for insurance? I would love to get some that covers cosmetic surgery or tummy tucks! Thanks

SusieQ2019 replied to GastricGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@sillykitty you made me smile. I guess I am looking at it in terms of me hitting a stall so soon, but I am loosing again. Overall I am very happy with the weight loss. I feel great and I am fitting into clothes I haven't worn in morning a year. Thankful for that and for this site. -
I don't worry too much about the timing of when I drank something before eating. Some people do what's called water loading before meals to aid in satiety. You can google that if you'd like. One of the elements that help you loose weight after a gastric bypass along with malabsorption is the restricted amount of food that you can eat at one sitting. Once you've eaten the predetermined amount of food and it's sitting in your pouch, it will have to start making it's way through the small opening (stoma) created by your surgeon from your pouch into your intestine. The stoma size is created with purpose. If too large, there will be little or no restriction. If too small, it will have to be expanded to allow food to pass. If you eat too fast or too much at one sitting, you will cause the food to clog the stoma. Anytime you have a clog in your stomach whether it's a pouch or a sleeve, your body will naturally regurgitate and force the clog out the way it came in. Drinking during or after a meal will either cause the food to pass right through defeating the purpose of the stoma and small pouch or it will cause that blocking sensation that will trigger your body's regurgitation response. I found out the hard way that contrary to my previous way of eating, drinking something to "wash down the food" will no longer work. It is a whole new lifestyle that you have to get used to. You will be consuming meals different than anyone else at the table. The timing of when you can take your first drink after eating will become more of a natural thing rather than a strictly regimented clock watching procedure as time goes by. Sometimes it's 30 minutes and sometimes it's over an hour for me. Just watch the signs and stay hydrated.

Embrace the Stall
sta1067 replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thank you all so much! I had sleeve surgery on 4/22/19. Total lost (before and after surgery) is 26 lbs. I have "stalled out" the past few days and started to worry that maybe I am doing something wrong. I came here and spent time reading all of your posts and feel so much better. I am absolutely feeling like my clothes continue to get looser every day, despite what the scale says. (I put on a hoodie today that used to be too tight and it hung on me. Also, the shoulders of my suit jackets are now too loose.) I will embrace the stall and understand it for what it is, my body readjusting to all of this and doing the work to get smaller. You guys rock and are such an inspiration to someone new to all of this! -
Let's talk about body dysmorphia
YeahOkay31 replied to Lochnessamber's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When I was 377 pounds, I didn't realize how big I was until I'd see myself in pictures. When i was in the low 300s, I think I realized my size, but since I liked the way I looked, I felt sexy and womanly, it wasn't this bad thing. Now, I realize that I am technically smaller, but I don't feel like this is a good thing. Like I am not smaller in the way I should be. Loose skin and the lost of my once impressive chest and booty is a very hard adjustment. I randomly get upset when I pass a mirror. My husband says I look great with clothes on and that my figure is still shapely, but it is very hard to see it myself. Hopefully after I manage to get some plastic surgeries done I will start to accept the new me. -
No weight loss since surgery!
SusieQ2019 replied to Taranurse 1's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Don't feel discouraged I am a slow looser to. I am two weeks out and when I went home from the hospital I was 9lbs more than the day of surgery. Today I am down 11 lbs since surgery, 22 lbs in total when I add the weight I lost during the liver fast and 27lbs since October. I felt discouraged but my co workers are telling me that I am loosing weight although they don't know that I had surgery lol. My cloths are fitting me loose and I had to remove 2 links from my watch. We will get there. -
I had my surgery in March I'm about 8 weeks out. I can start to see the loss. Just wish it was going a little faster. I hope the slow lose means no lose skin. Sent from my Moto E (4) using BariatricPal mobile app

Little over 8 months post op. Can’t seem to get out of 203 to 205 range. Tried IF, Tried dropping carbs to like 20 to 25 a day and managed to drop 1 freaking pound in 2 weeks. Protein is perfect getting about 100 oz water a day. This weekend was mother’s day so I had a free weekend. And scale said 210 this morning! I am up 5 pounds since Friday. I am so frustrated right now. Wondering if anyone has tried a 10 day liquid diet this far out in the game? Like 4 protein shakes a day for the next 10 days? Would I finally see numbers 195 to 198? Or just setting myself up for a huge disappointment and hunger? I am afraid my body is just done. The scale has just gone up in down in 8 pound range for about 3 months now. I see my doctors and my nut every 3 months so I saw them in March and they were happy with everything I was doing. They also told me if I lose anymore it will not come easy. But I feel like I am still working hard but just have nothing to show for it. So I see them again in month and have made 0 progress since I was there last. I just want to get to 185 to 190 ish and then have skin surgery. Any thoughts on the liquid diet thing? Guess I just hope it would kick start something again.

HOW FAST CAN I RETURN TO WORK POST VGS?
ProudGrammy replied to CESILEYRAE's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@CESILEYRAE popular question and answer - " we are all different" this refers to how much weight you loose in certain time period, when you return to work - certain foods your NUT allows and other NUTS don't - many variables throughout surgery pre and post OP. time returning to work, hmmmmm long weekend, one week, 2 weeks etc. - depends on how you feel i returned to work the second i came home!! I am happily retired☺️ good luck with surgery kathy -
I feel worse if I eat than if I don't. Hope that doesn't mean I'm teetering on the brink of anorexia. After being accused of gluttony so long " She could lose that weight, She LIKES being so fat!" that would be the Universe reaking it's revenge. Maybe get out a chilled protein shake, and add my morning dose of Miralax. After the Grand Purging Enema of Milk and Molasses last Friday afternoon, I have not had anything except flatus and loose mucus since Saturday morning. Oh I hope I have not dropped into Same Old Same Old. Been back to double Miralax, have Ducolax and M..O.M. in reserve. Should i invest in Colace? Believe I can take the pills but liquid made me So So Sick when I was in OSU last November receiving my PICC line et cetera. Maybe my destiny is to be a Little Old Lady Full of S***, even started. to start eating the mashed up veggies from my soups. What next? Would love to eat Bran Cereal, somebody told me a full cup would make me a Regular Woman, difficult when you ingest 2-3 oz a feeding. Maybe go talk to PCP, not booked in at Bariatric Clinic until June/July EGJ/Endoscopy, they all keep telling me I am doing Wonderful, well my colon stays Full, not sure of the Wonder part?💩I think maybe my rectal muscles are tired, maybe shot so bad they don't want to contract and push. So peristalsis packs me full but my anus just has snapped tightly shut! At least that is my Working Theory, can anybody repute it?
