Had my VSG on 3/2/17; no problems thus far-unless you count clothes not fitting, LOL! Anyway, preparing to go on a 7day cruise the last week of April 2017; tried on some shorts that I've always taken on trips....Don't know why, but was shocked they were too big! Off to Target I went to get 3 pair of shorts. Normally wear a 14/16 women's/plus, so I tried a 12 women's/plus----guess what, THEY WERE TOO BIG!!!! I had to go into the misses/juniors; got a light denim in a misses 10, a dark denim in a misses 10, and a white pair in a misses 12 (different material)!!!!! WHAT A GREAT NSV TO START THE WEEK WITH!!!!!! Highest wt: 240lbs 1st dr appt wt: 220lbs Day of surgery wt: 193.4lbs Current wt: 184.4lbs Goal wt: between 150-165lbs Have a great week everyone!!!!

Mandy, what an awesome story and inspiring NSV! I laughed about the mirror. I would have been thinking the same thing! -
did my workout! 12 min on treadmill 10 min on bike 10 min on epyliptical(or however you spell it) =32 min work out... NSV met my weekly goal of 150 minutes 2 days early!!!

I weigh myself every Friday morning--the weekly anniversary of my surgery and at special milestones like month anniversaries. I was getting obsessed, weighing everyday, multiple times a day. I am not a big NSV girl. I need to see numbers go down to stay motivated. But I am slowly getting control of the compulsion.

I'm glad I'm not the only one having these NSVs cause they are truely the best! :Banane23: ummm....... What is this banana?

Okay, I'm going to tell a great NSV that relates to this thread and one that I thought I would never share in a forum such as this. Here goes, many of you have been discussing the Dog style position, which by the way is my favorite. The ultimate though is Dog Style with me standing and at the side of the bed with DW on the bed. To pull this off you need to be in relativley good shape so if you can go for a while before the legs give out you are doing well. Finally it is quite a work out especially if you consider vines stat of 1 inch for evey 35 pounds. Eventually after significant weight loss it will also become a nice walk (3 steps forward 3 steps back) The other day because of the height of the bed at the hotel we were ate I was able to do it all on my tip toes. Try that for a significant period of time. Not a bad NSV at all

:D Thanks my peeps!!! Just enjoying the losing weight, and for once I feel like I can keep it off too. I'm lovin it!!! I told my hubby I want to get the girls done as soon as I hit goal. Everything else can wait awhile. I guess that's why I haven't even thought about getting any smaller shirts than mediums now. I doubt with the size I want I will be able to fit into smalls. Aaaanyway, here's another NSV... it's my TOM and I haven't really gained any weight (haven't lost either but oh well!!!). I'm keeping myself under control as much as I can. I blew it last time and didn't want to do that again. I'm almost out of it, so hopefully I can race to get to my Easter goal with time to spare!!! :D -
Heh, you are so right. They'll fall apart before they have a chance to fall off, huh? Okay, 2 people say try hipsters so I will. Hey, what's the dressing room etiquitte for undies shopping? Is it okay to try on these new hipsters if I leave my raggedy ones on underneath? I have been buying Jockeys in the box for so long I haven't tried on undies...ever? Someone tell me if trying on is okay. I figure if you can try on a swimsuit...just checking. HAY! I found 2 more NSV's on the Summer Challenge thread, so I copied and now I'll paste... From September? My shoes are too big. My feet just don't fill them up anymore. My slippers slide off or I sling them off as I walk around in them at home, and my dressier slides are way big, my feet are just swimming in them! Huh. AND my pants are dragging. I guess I just have less butt to keep them pulled up off the ground? My clothing choices these past years have been sloppily big, I'll admit, and so these pants are now under the heels of my too big shoes. They get wet at the hem if it's rainy outside. And not just from splashing, I'm walking on the backs of these things! Wowza! Of all the NSV's to catch my attention...I'm a bit more dumbfounded than excited, but still happy!!

My NSV is that I'm back at the gym for the first time in a year. I did an aerobics class yesterday and plan on going back again today. It feels good to move my butt, but I am a little sore. The scale seems to like the movement so we'll see how I do weighing in on the 17th when I get my first fill.

I bought new bras. Two 38D's and one 40D. My bra size hasn't really gone down (except for the 38 part) but since they are new and a different style from my old ones, the girls are really up there. Taking some getting used to, that's for sure. Is that an NSV? Higher up boobs? LOL Okay, so here's one. I bought size 1X shirts. They are much more snug than I am used to wearing, and since my tummy is so wavy/rolly/poochie I'm still not comfortable. But they do fit better under the arms and around my high boobs. In that regard, it's an improvement. That's down from a 2X and the 3X's are getting retired. Yippee!!!

I know!!! You all were waaaay down at the other end of the table. I almost wish we had a room, where we could circle up after lunch and go around, give updates on everyone. LOL I guess that's what Chat is for, but it's nice to talk to everyone while we are there. I really enjoy our lunches. Melissa e-mailed me the individual pic of me she took from her camera. Sad to say, I was horrified and dissappointed. Kind of like when I'd see pics of myself (such as the "fat pics" I posted on my NSV thread...ya'll remember the ones...) and I'm shocked because I don't realize how bad I look! Okay, so I look BETTER than I did, but it's the kick in the butt I need to get hard on myself with my diet and exercise. It has recently sunk in that I have been banded almost 10 !!! months. Where did the time go?! I want to have lost 50 pounds by my one year bandiversary. So I got to get crackalackin' on the next 17 pounds. I weighed an even 190.0 this morning. Ugh. 17 more pounds. 17 more pounds. Gotta make the donuts. 17 more pounds.

NSV: I woke up sexy

I can't wait to hear about your NSV's either!!! You are already gorgeous, honey when you're at a lower weight you're going to need a security escort at all times! -
I reached a personal NSV today...I can cross my legs! Now, in the past, I've faked it by leaning slightly to one side and flinging one leg over the other, and then holding onto my knee for dear life. From the front, sure...looked like I was normally crossing my legs, while resting slightly on my knee. Meanwhile, the back side of me was hanging over the armrest. Now, I can sit normal with my butt and hips straight and cross my legs. AND IT DOESN'T FALL OFF! I don't have to hold it. My next NSV - on the road to becoming a "normos" - will be when I can tuck one foot behind the leg that's being crossed. The BIG NSV will come when I can cross the leg, tuck the foot, and twist my legs to the side - without moving my butt. I've studied the normal woman for years. Pretty soon I'll be able to mingle among them with no one the wiser that once I couldn't even cross my legs. In the meantime it's small steps toward normal...

@@KindaFamiliar, Congratulations on your NSV! Yes, that definitely qualifies! Thanks for sharing, and keep letting us know about your NSV’s…when you notice them, of course, and you’re not too busy living life and loving it to notice them! -
Hey Riane: You might want to search on the NSV threads to see if someone says they got to come off of their cpap machines because they probably could give you theirs if they don't need it anymore. Good luck finding a machine. I hope someone gives you one. Sue

Hi All, Another NSV! Went to a concert tonight. actually fit into the seat ,easily.! i wasn't squashed together with my thighs touching the person next to me!! i've tried and no amount of sucking it in and squeezing my legs together prevented me from touching the other person's leg in the past. Cannot put my arms down below the arm rests but this is much more comfortable!! -

Also did 2 + hours in the garden - before I could barely do 30 minutes w/o having trouble breathing. -

After my 2 weeks off of school(teacher) because of hospitalization-kidney stones and 10 days Spring Break I went back to school - decided to wear a t-shirt that actually fit me .... well, my first class,6 children every 1/2 hour - I'm a kindergarten reading teacher, came in. One of my little guys gave me the once over. You could just see his eyes go over me from head to toe and then back to my face...he looked a little perplexed...then he said, "Are you getting skinny are what?" Later, that day a second grade teacher came over and had to tell me a conversation with one of my former students that is now in her class. Her conversation went like this..."This morning when we were waiting for our special class in the hall and you stopped and talked to them, well after you left B---- asked me "Is it just me, or is Mrs. B losing a lot of weight?". I do parent pick up duty everyday and I am having a lot of them ask me about my weight. This has just started happening because I'm pulling out spring clothes from a longgggggg time ago (over 10 years) and wearing clothes that are fitting and showing off my 83 lb. loss. I never throw anything away so I do have a new-old wardrobe. All this sounds great, right? Well, I do have some worries....that I'd like some help on.....My history tells me when I lose weight enough for people to notice...I have always in the past started to slip off the program...I don't know why? Is it I'm being successful so I don't have to try so hard and give myself permission....Am I feeling uncomfortable with the Personal attention (although I'm a pretty outgoing person). This time I am changing my lifestyle - Exercise and not as obsessed with eating...I guess I keep saying this is too good to be true...when is this going to end. I still have 100 lbs to lose ... I have been very true to the lapband rules and measuring my food until just recently have slipped acouple of times... This is scary for me.... This my not be the right thread for this conversation but along with NSV and being motivated because they did bring a smile and good feeling to me...comes my insecurities. Please share thoughts, experiences, or suggestions. Thanks Deb PS I'm having a hard time getting rid of my too big clothes. -

Congratulations to everyone for the NSVs. It is great to have a place where we can share these celebrations. In the last few days I've tried on a number of blouses and jackets. For the first time I am able to actually button the blouses and some jackets I've owned for years. For many years I've worn jackets without buttoning or sipping because I simply couldn't pull together the buttons or attempt the zipper. It really is a great feeling to be able to comfortably wear some of these items that have been in my closet for too many years. -
I had a NSV I don't care to repeat. I have a beautiful gold bangle bracelet that hubby bought me his 1st tour in Iraq. I wore it to work yesterday and when I got home and started taking off my jewelry, it wasn't on my arm. I panicked. I quickly ran back to work and there it was, laying on the floor by the desk where I had been sitting. I think it came off when I pulled my sweater off and I never felt it come over my hand. Whew! I am so glad I found it.

I noticed today that I have cheekbones. Not just pudgy cheeks that some old relative would want to pinch, but honest to goodness cheekbones again. I have also dropped a pants size. I am still wearing my "big" pants, but today I was able to comfortable wear a pair of jeans that are 1 size smaller. I know I have a long way to go, but... Thanks everyone for sharing your NSV!! How very exciting! Congrats to all of you!! -

Got my surgery Date - December bandster
Nathalie replied to beversman's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Band Sisters! I'm in Washington for the week, and am totally ROCKING on my pre-op diet. I have not cheated one single time. I totally feel like I rule! I brought my pre-packaged meals, and have been drinking soup and hot chocolate during the meetings, nibbling my bars and soy nuts for snacks. I'm pounding water, and even declined drinks and dinner invitations. I am devoted to success. I fully expect that when I get home I will be another 3-4 pounds lighter. I also met a nice man at the airport who is *ahem* on his way over to socialize for a while. I feel so loose in the caboose, but I'm single, and pretty, and crazysexycool. So where's the harm in it? Of course I've given his contact info to my girlfriend in case I end up missing (hahah, that won't happen). Thought I'd check in and share my NSVs with you. Hope you're all doing well! I'll be home tomorrow. Nathalie -
So excited for you to reach your first nsv! I'm sure it will be here before you know it!
