    Heading to Silver Dollar City!

Wow!! What a difference losing 113 pounds can make!! This theme park experience was so different from before!! Last time I was publicly humiliated when I couldn't fit in the roller coaster. I was just crushed. This time, I rode every ride possible!! I fit comfortably in every ride we went on and had the time of my life!! I had energy all day long to walk the park. I still want to lose quite a bit more, but I finally feel like I can be free and just live again!! I am overjoyed!!! Oh, and another NSV, I went to a Cardinals baseball store and was actually able to purchase a women's cardinals tank top! I usually have to buy the men's size shirt because the women's just do not fit in that type of official sports shirt. I was very happy to be able to buy a girly Cardinals shirt instead of a baggy men's style!
  3. My marriage is even stronger now. We had a tight marriage before but instead of my hubby worrying about my health now, we get to concentrate on being more active, celebrating the nsv's, he loves when I put on fashion shows for him with my new clothes and he especially loves all the extra 'bedroom attention' if you get my drift. My hubby had lost 70+ pounds on his own about 8 years ago and has kept it off so he can empathize with my joys of losing the weight and is so happy for me. We are like newlyweds again
  4. Great NSVs! I have to wear a belt now because my damn pants are falling off!
  5. You know it still amazes me how much my thinking still has to change about what my capacity is post sleeve. I never realised how much I felt I couldn't do- and that I had gotten to the point where I was so unhealthy I really couldn't accomplish basic things. For example, I went to work for four hours this morning, came home and reorganised my study, the linen press and my wardrobe. Then I went and swept the patios, cleaned the rest of the house and vacuumed and mopped. And I still have plenty of energy! Before I could never have even considered doing this let along without breaking a sweat - literally Love, love LOVE my sleeve...& a recent (sort of NSV) I now no longer weigh the most in my family my dad now wears that title (as he should) lol. Can't believe it was only 9 months ago that I had the surgery - so many changes, so many things happening!! It's bloody amazing!

    NSV

I started doing boot camp training a year ago, and I loved it. I couldn't get the food down so that I would lose weight so I added my band as another tool! We warm up sometimes at boot camp by running, which I could never do, so I walked. BUT Friday I was at boot camp and I ran almost a mile without stopping and I did mountain climbers which I always found an excuse to get out of before. So even with my loss of 46 pounds it made a huge difference in what I can do! I have a long way to go to meet my goal, and have stumbled in this journey but I am gonna do this! Off for a bike ride and getting my first fill tomorrow! Excited!

    I don't get it. :(

I must be losing inches.. I've never taken measurements, but if all my clothes are too big, I must be losing inches, right? I guess I'm just a lil mad too because when I was doing my pre-op stuff, I was losing weight at a much faster rate... then I have this surgery to 'help it along' and I'm stalled out!! I'm trying to stay patient, but it's hard! Still having NSVs, though... like wearing jeans that haven't fit me in years! And I have gotten a lot of compliments lately... I'm gonna keep my focus and keep working on this! It will be a welcome and wonderful relief when that scale starts dipping down again!

    Early june 2013 banders?

Sounds like you are doing amazing - I'm with you on the finding out who I am without the weekend food events - I have always been great during the week, come the weekend I like my outings with my daughter, she is 17, and they always include a meal. My confession - I gave in today - my energy level was just awful, so I ate about 2/3 cup of grilled chicken and 3 bites of a salad. I am stuffed - I guess 11 days on shakes has shrunk my stomach - Yayyyy!!! 1st NSV for me! Lets keep in touch - I love all the support on here, it is amazing!
  12. Oh boy can I relate to that. I live in NYC and go to Broadway and off-Broadway shows alot. Most of the theaters are 100 years old and even though they've been renovated, the seats are very tight. I was at the theater just last Tuesday night in fact and sat down without thinking and slipped into the seat. Then my friend sat down next to me...she and I used to be the same size though not anymore and she made that oofff sound trying to squeeze into the seat and I could see how tough it was. Those are the things I think about when the head hunger starts and it's still so new...these changes in my life, that it's easy right now to walk away from bad food and overeating. I hope those NSVs never get old and can inspire me long after I can take all this for granted.
  13. #NSV I can now lay my 7month old across my lap and not have to hold her for dear life!!! #winning & this is pre-surgery ;-)

    My Unexpected Playground NSV

I am just over 2.5 years post op, and sometimes we forget how far we have come. Lately I have been struggling a little with body image and my head and NSV's elude me. While the other day, I did something that I never thought I would be able to do. I was at the playground with my children and decided to give the monkey bars a whirl. I am 34 years old and have NEVER been able to go across monkey bars, not even as a child (my weight struggles began in Kindergarten). With some determination, I crossed the monkey bars!! I thought my arms were going to fall off afterwards and I may have pulled a muscle, but I still did it!

    NSV

It's been a long time since I have bought new clothes besides the usual jeans, t-shirts, stretchy pants and shorts because the last time I tried to get something nice to wear to go out, I ended up staying home because everything looked so horrible on me. You see I'm a true lover of fashion and all that goes with it or as my mother used to tell me a real clothes horse! I have so many clothes that broke the rods in 2 closets, have rolling racks, clothes in boxes and enough shoes to open a boutique! At one point after a huge weight loss (gain almost all of it back or I wouldn't be here) I loved clothes so much, I went to work in a high end clothing store just so I could get the discount and I love to dress people! Sad, isn't it? Well anyway, I ordered a couple of dresses since I am schedule for some orthopedic surgery and I wanted something that was easy on, easy off for the hospital. I took a guess at the size and prayed that they would arrive in time not be too small. Guess what? They did come in time and they were TOO BIG!!! Not only that, but the one I really liked look pretty good one me! I quickly ordered a smaller size of the one I liked and now as I sit here I am thinking I probably should have ordered it 2 sizes smaller than just 1. It may not arrive in time for my surgery date and it too may be too big (I kind of hope so), but guess what? I'm so happy about it, I don't care!

    silly nsv!

That made me smile!!! These are the things that people who are not in our shoes would never understand. I totally get it and I'm smiling HUGE for you!!! So fun!! Keep up the good work!! I have had a couple strange NSV's lately too...the necklace I wear every day hangs into my cleavage now....LOL guess Im losing weight in my neck! And this one was really weird when I noticed it...when I wash my face now I can feel my cheek bones and jaw line. It was an awesome realization when it happened! Keep sharing your Silly NSV's! They are motivational and fun to hear!!
